Advantages: Chocolate lovers heaven, Absolutely delicious
Disadvantages: A bit expensive for everyday, Fattening (but I'm not counting calories today)
Christmas is a time to treat yourself, isn't it? Well, whilst out shopping the other day I decided to treat myself to some rather delicious but expensive cookies. After all, I decided that I've been good and deserved something a little bit special. Tesco's Finest Half Coated Chocolate and Orange Cookies are the ones I chose and I'm not sorry I did, they're scrummy! Okay, so what are these wonderful cookies you might ask? Well, if you hold on a minute - I'll tell you. Firstly, the packaging: These cookies come in a plastic tray and the silver gray wrapping has a picture of the cookies on it. The words 'Finest' are printed quite clearly at the top of the label with the product description just below it. It also says, and I quote: "Indulgent rich chocolate orange cookies packed with plain chocolate chunks and a hint of orange oil. Half coated in real milk chocolate." Are you tempted yet? Upon opening the package you are greeted by the wonderful aroma of chocolate and orange, it's subtle but obvious and very enticing. The cookies themselves are a good size at approximately 6cm in diameter and are a good 1 cm thick. If they were any bigger they'd be just too rich to eat and that would be a terrible shame! Now for the good bit, I get to eat some - again! Mmm, they really are delicious. The actual cookie isn't too crisp or brittle, it's just right; it has an almost melt in the mouth texture that compliments it perfectly. The orange flavor comes through beautifully and really works with the chocolate chunks that are generously dispersed throughout the chocolate cookie. The coating is generous too, not the measly scraping that you get on some chocolate-coated cookies. If you manage to leave any, remember to store them in an airtight container for next time! These cookies are suitable for vegetarians and
have the typical warning on the package that they may contain nuts. This is probably because the range contains three varieties; these are Triple Chocolate Cookies, Half Coated Triple Nut Cookies and Half Coated Chocolate and Orange Cookies. The nutritional information is printed quite clearly on the side of the package and gives the values for 100g and individually. The bad news is that each cookie contains: Energy: 122kcal Protein: 1.2g Carbohydrate: 14.9g (of which sugar = 9.6g) Fat: 6.4g Saturates: 2.7g Mono-unsaturated: 2.2g Polyunsaturated: 1.1g Fiber: 0.3g Sodium: 0.1g These cookies are produced in the UK and as with any Tesco product they carry a money back guarantee so if you don't like them you can take them back, what are you waiting for? There are a total of just 8 cookies in each package and cost 99p but occasionally they're on special offer!
