I love fresh cream slices but I have to be in the mood for them unlike the chocolate éclairs that I have just reviewed! These slices are from Tescos and although our kind neighbour gave them to us, I can tell you that they did cost 94p for a box of two. The cakes consist of two layers of puff pastry and in between is a thick layer of cream and jam. The whole thing is topped with a thin layer of white and brown rippled icing. The reason I have to be in the mood for these lovely cakes is because they make such a mess. Unlike an éclair that has a protective 'jacket' which ensures that nothing spills out, these cakes have 'open' sides so when you take a ... Read the complete review

Tesco Fresh Cream Slices are some of the nicest fresh cream slices I've had. They cost 94p for a box of two, so that's less than 50p each. I know it sounds like a lot for one cake, but these are worth every penny for the quality of ingredients that you get for your money. Each cake slice features layers of puff pastry that are filled with a loads of whipped cream and strawberry jam. They're topped off to perfection with lashings of thick, sweet, sticky icing and draped in chocolate lines for decoration. Biting into one of these babies is pure heaven. The bottom layer of the pastry is stodgy and sweet, with the other layers being flaky and ... Read the complete review

Tesco describe their fresh cream slices as flaky, creamy and an everyday indulgence. Now unless we all want to make an appointment with Weight-watchers I think we had better ignore that statement! I reckon to visit our nearest Tesco superstore once a week and inevitably I end up putting something into my trolley to go with a cup of tea when I get home. I am sure that we must have sampled most of Tesco's creamy calorie laden cakes and all have met with our approval! Tesco have adopted a pale blue cardboard packaging for their range of fresh cream cakes, I like their choice of colour, its clean, fresh and appealing. The product description is printed ... "TESCO Fresh Cream Slices" are a delicious creamy and flaky treat that can be found in packs of two in the fresh dessert section of the chilled cabinets. ~ Packaging ~ The fresh cream slices are presented in a pale blue cardboard box with a cellophane window that affords a clear, and tantalizing, view of the items within. There is also a helpful graphic that responsibly informs you that each individual slice contains 315 calories, 17.6g of sugar, 20.2g of fat, 11.9g of saturates and 0.1g of salt, and how that computes as percentages of your daily allowance. So if you indulge in a creamy slice be aware that you have just blown 16% ... Read the complete review

This is not the normal Dessert I have, but someone brought these to work with other Cream Cakes, and I thought since I hadn't tried them, then they would be worth a go! After all they did look yummy. The pack was a pack of 2 and I think these sell around the 90p mark. They are in the chiller section of Tesco, and i've seen these being next to the Chocolate Eclair's that I reviewed the other day. The box was alright, but it seemed a bit bland and didn't exactly stand out with the beige-y colour and a blue strip running down it. There is a see through part on the box also and you can see the Slices through this. The Slices are thicker than ... Read the complete review
