Tesco Fresh Double Cream

When you remove its lid you will see inside quite a pure white coloured cream, definitely appealing. It doesn't have much of an aroma, perhaps a little like milk if anything. If I was at home when I first tried this I would have shoved a spoon in and gave it a taste before I did anything with it, but since this wasn't an option I had to dive right in and try with the scone, hoping for the best. However I have since...more

Whenever I think of double cream, I automatically thing of Elmlea. However when I was having tea at a friend's house one evening, she presented scones, some jam, and a tub of Tesco double cream. Double cream is not something I have a lot, so I wasn't sure what to expect from this, let alone having it with scones! However I was prepared to try it with an open mind, and actually liked what I discovered! Brand: Tesco Packaging: large plastic tub Appearance: white Taste: quite sweet Texture: thick and creamy Price: £1.60 Availability: Tesco stores Now we've got the basics, we can look further. The packaging for the cream is ...  Read the complete review

Tesco double cream is a flexible accessory for any cook to have in their fridge. Available in store in the chilled section, generally close to milk and yoghurts, it is a really adaptable ingredient for a lot of meals. At 50p for 150ml this double cream is a great buy, you can also buy the 300ml for 88p. We used to buy Elmlea but have cut our budget during the recession and now use this, generally the shelf life is around a week from the date your purchased it so you do need to ensure you use it fairly quickly after buying it. The packaging is a blue tub with a plastic lid, it looks fine but nothing special. The cream is lovely and rich, it is ...  Read the complete review

Tesco Fresh Double Cream is a product that I don't think you can go far wrong with. Dairy products are generally quite expensive these days, but the price of this products remains quite competitive. There are a range of pack sizes to choose from, and the prices don't jump around too much between pack sizes either. You can get 150ml for 56p, 300ml for 84p or 600ml for £1.68. So you can afford to buy whichever pack size suits your needs without worrying that you're paying twice the price per ml just to buy a smaller pot. In the 300ml and 600ml sizes, the cream comes in a thin plastic pot with a blue plastic lid on it. Once you've removed the seal off the ...  Read the complete review
