... may have made a mistake with the olive oil, but as a fact the bread was not crunchy. I am not sure I will buy it again, may be next time I will try in the oven, but when I prepared a bread baguette last time I also put some olive oil and it was much crunchier (unfortunately I do not recall which brand it was, but I suspect it was from Sainsbury's) I like the value products of Tesco, but this one will get a 2/5 from me...more

Along with the pasta I had today for lunch we had some frozen garlic baguettes in the freezer so decided to have one of these to go along with it. Tesco Garlic Baguettes normally come in a pack of 2 or 3 depending on how generous Tesco are feeling and are packaged the same as pictured above. Essentially these are just a plain crusty baguette that has been cut through and infused with a garlic spread (margarine, not butter in this case), when cooking in an oven the bread bakes and the spread melts to coat the bread to give a delicious garlic taste. They make a very nice addition to any meal, especially Italian cuisine and we buy them in regularly ...  Read the complete review

I got these garlic baguettes in Tesco to go with our bonfire night food, I feel a bit robbed now I've seen the picture Dooyoo have got up because they are 3 for £1.00 and I paid 89p for 2! They are very nice and the 2 baguettes were big enough to do the 4 of us plus a slice for my 2 year old sister who isn't mad keen on it but likes to have the same on her plate as we've got. They go nice and crispy in the oven and only took about 15 mins to cook. They smell quite strong of garlic as they're cooking and look lovely and fresh when they're done. The taste of them is gorgeous, loads better than the Sainsburys ones we had last week. It's a ...  Read the complete review

PACKAGING These come in various sized, plastic packets depending on which type you decide to buy. The main colour present on the packets is a deep green colour and "tesco Italian garlic baguette" is written in the middle of a fancy design. Underneath that is says "crust white baguette filled with garlic and herb butter" and it also tells you that is bakes in 12 minutes. I got the 210g packet the other ones may vary. NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION Guided Daily Allowance for a typical adult. I am reviewing here the Tesco Value Garlic Baguette, I believe that tesco offer a non value version of theri garlic baguette I paid 40pennies for a baguette today, which comes in the conventional Value package of Tesco, with a photo of the garlic baguette on one side of the platic wrapper and the instructions and ingredients on the other side. Mine has 5 days of life and it says "keep refrigerated" . It weights 170 gramms, it is suitable for home freezing and on the wrapper it also says "no artificial preservatives, flavours, colours or hydrogenated fat" Quite cleverly they tell you that a quarter of a baguette contains 140 ...  Read the complete review

Tesco Garlic Baguettes are a real value for money purchase in Tesco given the current price rises on a loat of similar products. While the prices of bread and dairy have shot up in general, these have stayed really cheap. A triple pack of these costs just £1 which seems almost too good to be true. These come in the fresh ready meals section, so they have to be kept refridgerated and used within a few days of opening. You can freeze them though which is really helpful. Small families won't want to have eat up three loaves in a couple of days! To cook these, just put them in the oven for about ten minutes (times vary, see packet). They're quick ...  Read the complete review
