Advantages: Looks Nice

Disadvantages: Taste, Quality of bread, Not much garlic

I bought this last week to accompany homemade pizzas. I have had it before and seemed to remember enjoying it. I thought it looked like a nice alternative to your usual garlic baguette. It came in a cardboard box with a cut out so you can see the product inside. Inside, the circular bread is on a polystyrene platter and then wrapped in plastic to keep it fresh. The box is not the same as the one in the picture and instead is a dark green colour with a large picture of the product and bold white writing giving a description of the product. It cost £1.39 for 170g and I would say the pizza bread was about 12 inches across.

You can only cook this product in the oven so this is how we cooked it, it recommends to cook it for 7-9 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 200 degrees. We cooked ours for about 10 minutes as we just put it in with the other pizzas and found it was cooked perfectly. Although the dough was light, it had turned a nice golden brown colour and looked very appetising. The garlic and parsley was visable and didn't look like there was too much on it. You can freeze this item and then cooking time takes 10-12 minutes.

We cut the pizza bread into 6 very reasonable slices and I was looking forward to trying it again after remembering how I thought it tasted the last time. I have to say I was slightly unimpressed. The bread was quite hard and I found that it did not have a lot of flavour to it. This could be due to there being no garlic butter on it as there is usually in this kind of product. However, you could taste the garlic but it was very subtle, therefore it may be best for those who aren't keen garlic fans. Out of 4 of us-2 adults and 2 kids, 2 slices of this were leftover yet all the pizzas had disappeared!

Tescos website does not recommend how much a serving is but judging from the values I am guessing this is around half of the bread. Per serving contains 315 calories, 16.7g fat (7.8g which saturates) and 0.9g of salt so it is not the best for you!

I wouldn't recommend buying this as none of us particularly enjoyed it and I think in future I will buy the tear and share bread or a normal baguette, especially as they are cheaper!

Summary: Not recommended
