... looking like some cheaper burgers can be. I was planning on putting these burgers in the oven along with some chips, but it says on the box that these burgers can only be grilled or barbecued (best cooked from frozen) and I find this unusual and inconvenient, however, I did as instructed and put them in the grill at the correct temperature. Within ten minutes they were starting to burn, so I flipped them over, and ten minutes later they were starting to singe and spit again, but when I cut into one it was nowhere n...more

Premium Review Tesco Homestyle Beef Burgers with Cheese: Guaranteed clogged arteries! (582 words)

Searching through the freezer compartment for inspiration recently, I came across Tesco's Homestyle beef burgers with cheese. I noticed them firstly as they have an appetising picture on the box and secondly, they were on offer at only 49p for two, when they are usually £2.49. If they usually cost that much for two burgers, I figured that they must be of sound quality, so I threw two packets into my trolley. The burgers come in a box that is 25cm long, 13cm wide and 3cm deep, so I was expecting the burgers to be of a good size (so I went and bought large burger buns!) but once you take the burgers out of the box and unwrap the cellophane wrapping, the ...  Read the complete review

I love Burgers, and now it is meant to be BBQ Season, then I have been looking for Burgers to stock up on. Since the weather is so unpredictable it is not always practical to buy fresh Meat, so i've been buying some frozen food, and this way you kind of have instant BBQ food if you just want to have 1 at last minute. These are in the frozen section of Tesco and is next to the other Burgers/Chicken/Sausage items. They normally cost £2.49 for 2 burgers, which seems quite pricey for Supermarket brand goods, but they were on a half price offer for £1.24 the last time I bought them. The box is quite slim line and the 2 Burgers are side by side. There is ...  Read the complete review

When doing the shopping I always look for bargains as I am sure most of us do! When doing the last monthly shop I came across a variety of beef burgers in the Tesco 'home-style' range that were all reduced in price. Not wanting to miss out and pass upon an offer I grabbed one of each in the range that I could find! The one I will review now is the beef burgers with cheese. The packaging: The box is pretty much standard fare for these types of products with a picture of the burgers on the front lay on a barm and bed of lettuce. The box is quite long and tells me the brand name along with the type of burger it is. It also has the 'new' logo in red in ...  Read the complete review
