This is one thing that I do not enjoy about the cake's and that is that they don't contain a filling like a average sponge cake. Another fault is that the cupcake's aren't very strong, and tend to fall apart quite easily with minimal effort put into it. They feel like they've been put together with sticky tape and glue. However the fairy cakes are unbelievably cheap! The price does vary but you could buy them from...more

Premium Review Tesco Iced Fairy Cakes: THE ICING ON THE CAKE (271 words)

My husband loves Sponge Cakes, whereas i'm not that fussed on them. I spotted these on the bottom shelf in the Cake aisle in Tesco yesterday and decided to get them. I thought he would like them, and since there is a blob of icing on the top, then I thought they seemed a bit more exciting for me. These cost me £1.12 for 12 Cakes. The Cakes were a decent size, probably the normal Sponge Cake size I would say. Packaging is alright. You can see the Cakes through the pack, so you know what they look like. Each Cake is in a little hole in a plastic tray and the whole lot is in a cellophane bag covering. There is a little picture on the front of the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Hello Fairy I made a cake for you. (388 words)

I am fortunate enough to live with a mile of Asda, Marks & Spencers, Sainsburys & Tesco which is ideal when I fancy a change as I can just pop in to whichever store takes my fancy. On a trip to Tesco recently I fancied some cakes & didn't want all the effort of making them myself so when I spotted these 12 iced fairy cakes for £1.15 they were perfect and I promptly snapped up a packet! These fairy cakes come in individual cake cases so they can easily be dished out to relatives although keep your eyes peeled for all the wrappers that get tucked down the side of the sofa or in cupboards or just under furniture, kids hey?! The cakes were ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Iced Fairy Cakes: I believe in fairies! (340 words)

I always remember seeing little fairy cakes and cup cakes at friends' birthday parties when I was younger - it was one of those traditions nobody dared to break. When I came across the Iced Fairy Cakes in Tesco I just had to try them! The cakes come in a pack of 12, and are in a plastic packaging so you can see exacly what you are getting. They seemed a good size each one a golden brown colour cased inside its paper cup. On the topof each there was an even size blob of icing, four yellow, four white and four a delicious gorgeous fairy pink shade. They looked amazing, I couldnt wait to try one. I took a pink one out and peeled it out of the case. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A fairy flew down and handed me these! (241 words)

These fairy cakes were something I picked up for the boys because they are a good size for little tummies and fingers! They cost me £1.15 for a pack of 12 mini fairy cakes. Inside you get four with white icing, four with pink and four with yellow icing on top. Each cake has it's own paper case which is easy to remove without squashing the thing or putting your finger through the icing. The icing is quite hard but does melt and soften when it goes into your mouth which is nice. I could eat the cake in two bites and one at a push whereas it took the boys a few bites to consume the lot. I was actually surprised at how nice the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Iced Fairy Cakes: Budget Fairy Cakes! (267 words)

I thoroughly enjoy Tesco fairy cakes and am partial to one or two at tea time, the fairy cakes have a soft cake body and a small icing top for added sweetness and/or flavour. They come in 3 different varieties of icing, Strawberry, banana and vanilla. In my opinion the strawberry tastes more dominant and more sweeter than the others but that is my opinion. The cake's themselves come in packs of 12 and are the avergae 'cupcake' size. They are plain and do not contain any 'extras' or anything inside of them. This is one thing that I do not enjoy about the cake's and that is that they don't contain a filling like a average sponge cake. Another ...  Read the complete review
