I always remember seeing little fairy cakes and cup cakes at friends' birthday parties when I was younger - it was one of those traditions nobody dared to break. When I came across the Iced Fairy Cakes in Tesco I just had to try them!

The cakes come in a pack of 12, and are in a plastic packaging so you can see exacly what you are getting. They seemed a good size each one a golden brown colour cased inside its paper cup. On the topof each there was an even size blob of icing, four yellow, four white and four a delicious gorgeous fairy pink shade. They looked amazing, I couldnt wait to try one.

I took a pink one out and peeled it out of the case. Biting into the sponge I noticed it was very soft and had a bland yet delightful taste to it. It tasted nicely cooked and not burned or underdone. As for the icing, well this was quite hard but very sweet indeed! I dont think each colour tasted different, even though I had expected strawberry pink and lemon yellow. However although the tastes do not differ, the different colours definitely do make it a little more exciting!

Now as cakes these are never going to be healthy! Each cake has 94 calories which isnot too bad, but they are not the largest of things and you are more likely to find yourself having more than one for sure! Theyre not a marvel, but eaten now and again and there should be minimal problems!

Now for the twelve you are looking at around £1.10. That means it is less than 10p a cake, and for that price you really cannot moan can you! Its not often you get something so delicious for a price as low as that, and they are definitely worth every little penny!

These are delicious and if you have not yet done so, they are definitely worth a try!
