As our Tesco is open now, I am able to explore the wonders of their own yoghurt section. Yes, they have the usual Mullers and Weight Watchers, but I was drawn to their own 'Incredibly range'.
In this range, there are several flavours, including Strawberry, Black Cherry and Raspberry (the three other flavours in the multipack I bought). They all sounded delicious, but I was intruiged to try the Peach and Nectarine flavour.
The Peach and Nectarine comes in a cylindrical pot made of tough cardboard. Mounted onto the blue background there is an image of a peach, with a nectarine behind. It looks very fruity, but there is no indication as to what the yoghurt itself looks like.
When you peel back the lid (watch for the little shower!), you'll notice it's quite a pale yellow shade, with darker, almost-orange fruit pieces through it - little cubes and specks of peach and nectarine. There is no doubt that it certainly smells fruity too - again orange-like.
It was time for the taste-test. As this was the first in the Tesco Incredibly range, it was important that this was a positive first-impression. Woohoo! It tasted delicious! The yoghurt was quite thick, and the fruit pieces gave in an interesting juicy texture. The yoghurt itself tasted of peach, the pieces of fruit like nectarines and oranges. It was a delight to taste!
I added the rest of my yoghurt to weetabix. This gave the somewhat bland cereal an almost-exotic flavour, and made it much more filling. By the time I had finished, I was not disappointed in the slightest, and couldn't wait to try the other flavours!
Not only is this delicious, but it's reasonably healthy too! Each pot contains 125 calories, and just 20g sugars. Although this contains just 1.4g fat, I have enjoyed other Low Fat options with <1g fat. Though, it is still fairly reasonable! Not only that but this 150g pot is a great source of calcium!
~~Contains milk, and may contrain traces of nuts~~
This yoghurt has a good shelf-life too; it had to be eaten by the forth of September, which is exactly a fortnight after we purchased them. As there is four in a pack, that means just two a week. Though, I doubt I could hold out for two weeks without trying the other flavours!
This is quite a versatile yoghurt. It's a nice size, so adding it to my weetabix was not a problem. You could also add it to slices of fruit (peach or nectarines perhaps?!) to make them a little more exciting. Unfortunately though, as the pot is cardboard rather than plastic, after just a few washes it will start to become damaged, so is not really that reusable.
These cost £1.49 for the pack of four, which is quite good as they are priced at 42p each. You can also buy three loose ones for 99p, which is quite good as you can mix and match to your preferences.
How does this compare to others then? Well the flavour, I find, is quite unique. I've had peach yoghurts, but never nectarine, and certainly not the two flavours combined! Though it does have a very strong taste, and a powerful aroma too. It's fairly cheap compared to others, and fairly healthy too! This is definitely ranked quite high!
This is a delicious yoghurt from Tesco, and if you are fortunate enough to live near one, you simply cannot give this one a miss!
