... cost 49p, so I bought two packets, In hindsight I should have bought more because they were very popular and they went straight away. The Tarts come in a clear packaging and look very attractive, there are three different types; strawberry, apricot and blackcurrent. I liked the fact they came in different flavour jams as when I put them on the plate to display with the party food they looked very attractive, much better than all one colour. The Tesco Jam Tarts are simply shortcrust pastry with a layer of jam on ...more

These jam tarts always remind me of my parties that I would have as a child. They would sit on a plate with some chocolate fingers and once everyone had devoured their sandwiches, they would reach for one of these. Once the party was over, my mum would be left clearing plates and nine times out of ten these would be left in their millions but you couldn't place them in a Tupperware box for another day because there were obvious signs of little fingers which had made there way through the jam. The tarts are made up of a sweet pastry which is filled with a flavoured jam. These Tesco ones come in a box of six and will set you back around 50p. Inside you will find ...  Read the complete review

At the end of last term goodies kept appearing in the staffroom birthdays and people leaving. One of the edible goodies on the table was a packet of Tesco jam tarts there actually were 2 packs and some other cakes too. These tarts are wrapped in a cellophane wrapper bag clear and Tesco blue coloured. You can see the tarts through the wrapping. The individual tarts are in a foil tart case. Now Tesco jam tarts are basically a short crust pastry circle with a spoon full of jam in the middle. There are 6 tarts and 3 flavours 2 of each flavour, strawberry apricot and blackcurrant. I did actually have one of these jam tarts to eat. The ...  Read the complete review

My 5 year old boy recently had his fifth birthday party and since then I have been reviewing all the food I bought for the party. As I said before I wanted to buy as much food as cheaply as possible, I wanted to have food left over and not have people going home having not had enough to eat but I didn't want to spend a fortune. As it happens I had prepared far too much and had loads left over. Jam Tarts are something I had in my mind that I wanted to buy, they are one food that I remember being at all the children's parties I went to when I was young. So when shopping in Tesco I saw the Tesco Jam Tarts, there were six in a packet and cost 49p, ...  Read the complete review

When you reach my age (not 21 anymore) you will probably find yourself carefully picking cakes and biscuits to go with your many cups of tea in a day as they soon become your only treat and pleasure. One of my recent finds to add pleasure to my life is Tesco jam tarts, for some reason the brand name jam tarts seem to be very expensive for what they are but the Tesco ones are much cheaper and every bit as good if not better then some. Packaged in a blue coloured Tesco packaging they perhaps do not look too appealing but there is a little clear window so you can see the delicious tarts. They come in three flavours, strawberry (my ...  Read the complete review

There is a tesco store right across the road from me so there is no surprise that I do all the shopping there! This means I have had the chance to sample a wide variety of their products. One of these is the Tesco Jam Tarts. The am tarts come in a little packet which is mainly blue, a very attractive colour indeed. There is also a clear window so you can get a peak at the products. They looked amazing. Each was round and had a coloured jam in the middle of the beige pastry. Reds and yellows stared at me, I couldnt wait to sample them! Over a few days I tried each flavour. Now each one had a crumbly dry pasty casing that was quite thin but edible. ...  Read the complete review
