I recently read a review of this product that davymichelle wrote and remember thinking to myself 'Yuk, this doesn't appeal to me at all' but when our neighbour kindly bought us an array of different cakes recently this one was in the selection. I know I could have by passed it but I am a glutton and couldn't help but try it. The dessert is quite big at 430g and can serve up to six people although that is being quite generous. Its made up of pastry, a lemon filling and meringue which is spread generously over the top. I was surprised at how well the meringue stayed together when I popped it onto some plates for Andrew and I. Nothing fell off or oozed ... Read the complete review

Tesco Lemon Meringue Pie is a reasonably priced family dessert at £2.15 for a 430g pie. It's found in the chiller section at Tesco, though there is a similar frozen variety available if you prefer. This particular version is not suitable for home freezing and should be kept in the fridge, due to the nature of the ingredients used in it. The first thing I should say about this is that ideally, it's meant to be cooked before being served. I'm aware that this is the case with some meringue pies, but personally I don't think I've ever had it hot. You can, and we do, eat it cold just fine. I am a big fan of Lemon Meringue, but that said I am a big fan of my Gran's homemade version, nothing ever tastes as good in comparrison but I am no cook so when some freinds were coming over one evening and I needed a quick fix dessert I headed off to the local Tesco and found their Lemon Meringue pie, I decided upon this as I thought it was a lighter option than that of a chocolate dessert so it went in the trolley! I purchased the lemon meringue for £2.15, I am certain this used to be a lot cheaper but like everything ,this item of food is now more expensive. The pie comes in an attractive looking box. It is yellow in colour and bares the Tesco logo and in ... Read the complete review

When I have a dessert I normally prefer things that contain Chocolate and perhaps Cream. In fact I love Profiteroles, so that probably sums up a good dessert from me. When I was in Tesco the other day I saw this in the freezer section and it was priced at £1.50 for 430g, so I got one to try. That's the good thing about Dooyoo - i've read a couple of reviews about this, now I buy it, review it myself therefore the money I spent on it I kinda get back in a way! This tastes like any other Lemon Meringue Pie i've had. That's not a negative about this, just that it wasn't that special. To serve this you defrost at room temperature for apprx 1 and a 1/2 hours, and I ... Read the complete review
