Whilst always trying to watch what I eat and eat as sensibly as possible, I do like to treat myself to a tasty sweet snack or two throughout the course of the day. Browsing through the cakes on offer in Tesco I spied their Health Choices Carrot and Orange cake slices. The picture on the box looked good, with only 95 calories per slice and a great love of carrot cake I decided to give them a try. THE PACKAGING In quite an eye-catching white box with a tasty looking photo of the cakes on the front. These 6 cakes come in a moulded plastic tray, each cake having its own little section to sit in and then enclosed in a clear plastic ...  Read the complete review

I popped into my local Tesco Express after work today, for something quick and easy for tea tonight. After choosing something I found myself hovering around the small cake selection in this tiny store. I fancied a cake, but had nothing specific in mind so I spotted something that looked appealing, however, out of the corner of my eye I saw these cake slices. I opted for these because they were by far the healthier choice. A box of 6 cake slices cost me £1.02. ***The packaging*** Is a white cardboard box with the words light choices scrawled across a good portion of it. Tesco Light Choices Carrot & Orange Cake Slices. I often but things from the Light Choices range in Tesco, I tend to find that they are not at all lighter than the normal varieties, especially their ready meals which are full of salt. However I do buy the products because I really like their taste. These cake slices can be found in the cakes and pies aisle, a packet of 6 will only cost you £0.90 which I think is a good deal and that's why I bought them, a lot of the other varieties were more expensive. They come in a white box which is the same design as the other boxes in the Tesco light range. On the front it has a picture of some of the cake slices on a ...  Read the complete review

Although I am currently on a healthy eating plan with the aim of loosing weight I still want to enjoy some nice treats every now and again. This is where the Tesco Light Choices range comes in. I have had these in the past and will again in the future, although I do not buy them that often as they are very moreish and I am the only one who really likes them! I got a box today, they were 99p for a box of 6 carrot and orange cake slices. Each 30g cake slice contains: 95 calories 1.0g protein 20.6g carbohydrate 13.3g of which sugars 0.7g fat 0.4g saturated fat a trace of monounsaturates and polyunsaturates 0.6g ...  Read the complete review

less sickly than truffles can be, and some nicely 'different' choices quality didn't feel as high as my Thornton's favourites

Low fat, low sugar, taste, price High salt content

The same as normal tomatoes. Packaging is unattractive.
