Whilst pottering around Tesco killing time a few days agoI spotted this cheese. Having recently rediscovered the delights of Philadelphia cheese, I thought I would give this cheaper alternative a try. Nutritional Information per 100g Energy 125kcal Protein 11.7g Carbohydrate 5.6g Fat 6.0g Many 'light' versions aren't that much better for you when you look close, but this one certainly is. If you compare the fat content of this one to the full fat plain version of Tesco soft cheese, then you'll see that where this has only 6g per 100g, the full fat version has a whopping 26g. For those with allergies the recipe ... Read the complete review

I love bread and I love cheese, but unfortunately my waistline doesn't! Looking for a way that I could still get my cheese fix, but keep the calories low, I came across Tesco light choices soft cheese with onions and chives. If I'm honest, I tend to think 'low fat, low taste' so went for this one as I thought the onion and chives would provide some extra flavour if the cheese itself was very bland. The cheese comes in a rectangular tub, with a clear plastic lid, and a peel off foil layer, a lot like Philadelphia cheese (although I haven't had that for ages, and I'm sure I read a review on here saying the packaging has now changed?). The lid is a little bit ... Read the complete review

I ocasionally buy myself one of the packs of Tesco xtra light choices soft cheeses for my sandwich fillings for work. I try to kid myself I am going to diet. This product costs 79p for the 250g rectangular tub. I could choose the standard extra light cheese or the one with garlic and herbs but today I choose the onion and chive variety. The similar Philadelphia one costs £1.39 for 200g. So come on talk to me while I make my sandwich. Slices of bread and a knife handy. I take the pot from my fridge; check the use by date that's fine plenty of time. I can keep the opened pot in the fridge for 5 days or use before the use by date. ... Read the complete review

I have a passion for eating bagels for breakfast and sometimes I even have one for lunch especially if I'm in London where there are plenty of quality bagel shops. I tend to also stock up for home and by the time you have slapped some cream cheese on and maybe some smoked salmon they are not the healthiest of snacks so after reading a review about this light cream cheese from Tesco I thought I would give it a go. A 250g tub costs 79p which is pretty good value as you get fair few bagels covered with the one tub. There is a feint aroma of onions when you open the tub but you do have to taqke a big sniff, certainly it is not over powering or very strong. It is ... Read the complete review
