Every week when I browse around my local Tesco's I always manage to buy lots of 'rubbish' lol, it drives my household mad. I know sweets are bad for me in the way that I eat them (I have no such word as moderation in my vocabulary after-all lol) and often indulge my sweet tooth. My favourite sweets are fruit pastilles and any sort of fruit gum drops/jellies but seeing these (a copy of Bassetts that I loved when I was a kid growing up) and priced at only 47p a bag I couldn't resist grabbing a couple of bags of these to transport myself back to the days of my youth (ok I admit that was a long time ago why else do you think I got two bags for heavens sake? Greed?) but ...  Read the complete review

My dad on one of his shopping expeditions the other week bought this 250g bag of Tesco's Liquorice Allsorts. Now he is a giant fan of liquorice allsorts and therefore I couldn't really understand why he had purchased a 'cheap' bag. Whatever the reason for purchase we sat down to eat them whilst watching a few episodes of Dad's Army. Now we knew that what we were watching wasn't going to be a problem but would the snack become one? In short the answer to this question is simply no because both my dad and I were pleasantly surprised by what the bag yielded. I think that both of us were expecting a sweet that tasted strongly of sugar but not much else. This ...  Read the complete review

It has to be said I am a bit of Bertie Basset fan so I'm not sure if that really makes me biased from the get go or not but I try and stay open minded and it certainly dosn't prevent me testing new and cheaper alternatives. Tescos own Liquorice Allsorts come in a copy-cat style bag so are instantly recognisable. At 500g you get a fair amount for your money too and they work out at 376 calories per 100g. So lets list the ingredients, which surprised the life out of me. Having never bothered to really look properly at what I'm stuffing in my mouth before , it was quite an eye opener. Sugar, Glucose Syrup, Treacle, Wheat Flour, Desiccated ...  Read the complete review

I Love all sorts of liquorice, sticks, pipes, red and black and big packs of liquorice allsorts . When in Tesco I bought a big bag of Tesco's own liquorice allsorts they cost 56p for 250g Bassets cost £ 1.15p for 226g for 215 g that's more than twice the price and although I think Bassets do taste a bit better not twice as much. These sweets from Tesco come in a grey and white striped plastic bag with a black oval proclaiming they are Tesco liquorice allsorts . The ingredients are given on the bag,.
