The raisins are actually very plump and juicy, and are certainly not cheap and nasty. They're chewy, and as you chew you get the chocolate and the raisins all mixed up together in a nice blob inside your mouth. They are very sweet (sweeter than the chocolate), and some may find the combined sweetness of chocolate and raisin too much for them. Of ...more

Premium Review Tesco Milk Chocolate Coated Raisins: raisin the bar in supermarket's own sweets (259 words)

At 69p for a 200g bag, these are really well priced. Even for a supermarket's own brand I thought that was good, and I was excited to see just how nice they would be. First off, the chocolate. It's Tescos own, and lacks the brilliance of Cadburys or other leading brands, yet despite this it really isn't that bad at all. It's quite creamy, and very sweet, which goes well with the sweetness of the raisins. I love chocolate peanuts so when I my hubby asked me what I would like from the shop, I of course said chocolate peanuts. Much to my utter disbelief and disgust he came back with chocolate raisins! After we had a little bicker about how he thought my favourites were chocolate and me saying 'how on earth could you think that when my absolute favourite sweets are peanut M&M's', I opened them and ate the lot! Honestly you wouldn't believe we've been married for five years! The raisins cost 69p for a 200g bag which is around the standard price for this product in most of the stores. The chocolate raisins are a good enough size that you realize that ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Milk Chocolate Coated Raisins: Top Tesco Value (227 words)

Rating:

Tesco Milk Chocolate Coated Raisins are exceptionally reasonably priced, at just 69p for a 200g bag. That's considerably cheaper than the majority of their own brand chocolate products, though I think the fact that a large portion of this product is made by raisins is what helps to bring the price down to such a cheap level. Inside the rather feminine bright pink packets, you'll find generous amounts of well formed, decent quality chocolate coated raisins. I think the milk chocolate they've used in these is Tesco's usual middle-of-the-road affair, with a strong taste of milk but not enough of a cream edge to it for my personal tastes. The raisins ...  Read the complete review
