... the other supermarkets. The bar is darker than a bar of Cadburys dairy milk and if they were placed side by side, I wouldn't call you an idiot if you thought that it was dark chocolate. The bar itself is very thin and all of the squares are divided up by an etch in the chocolate. The chocolate is overly sweet in my opinion and slightly artificial leaving a very strange after taste in the mouth. There isn't a particular rich chocolatey taste about it and I wouldn't say it was 'milky' either. I was really surprised a...more

Premium Review Tesco Milk Chocolate: Horrible taste (236 words)

After having some recent success of trying Sainsburys Basic milk chocolate which i really enjoyed and have bought several times since, i thought as i was visiting Tesco today i would buy this, expecting it to taste the same, except unfortunately it doesn't. The packaging is the standard Tesco value label. Plain white with the blue stripe. On the front of the packaging it clearly states the nutritional value which is : Per Quarter Of Pack.... Calories 130 Sugar 12.7g Fat 7.9g Saturates 3.9g Salt Trace The chocolate is in lines with 2 decent size chunks of chocolate per line. The chocolate is thick and looks nice, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Choco heaven! (426 words)

I was quite fond of the Tesco 'cheapy chocolate' in the dark variety. Though they never seemed to stock the milk chocolate option. However when I went to pick up my loved dark chocolate, I noticed something else... The packet was white, just the same, but this time the rim was not red, but blue! On the front therewas a picture of some broken up chocolate. Indeed it looked paler than the other. Reading it,I discovered it was the milk chocolate option I had been long waiting for. With that, I could not spare any longer and popped it into the basket! When I went home I sat down and broke a strip off the chocolate - three squares to be exact. They ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Milk Chocolate: Calling all cheapskate chocoholics! (744 words)

When it comes to chocolate I love it! I simply eat loads of the stuff on a daily basis telling myself it gives me a much needed energy boost (ok I lie to myself more often than not lol!) I do browse around my local Tesco superstore quite often and of late I have decided to try out some of the 'Value' range to purely see if it is 'Value' for money or a big fat con of getting us to buy rubbish. So far my results have been rather a mixed bag and my conclusion really is you pay for what you get in life as a rule however the piggy in me saw the size of this bar for 25p and I was so tempted by it I bought a couple of bars! The ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review There's no milk in this! (288 words)

Most of the supermarkets have their own version of chocolate these days and whilst I usually buy the dark chocolate 'basic' version from Sainsburys, I was shopping in Tesco and bought this to do some cooking with. They boys are really into making food so we decided to make some buns and drizzle this over the top with some smarties. The chocolate comes in 100g bars and cost 27p which is the same weight and price as all of the other supermarkets. The bar is darker than a bar of Cadburys dairy milk and if they were placed side by side, I wouldn't call you an idiot if you thought that it was dark chocolate. Premium Review Tesco Milk Chocolate: 27p Chocolate. Surely it's horrible?! Well it isn't (244 words)

Chocolate for a bargain basement price of 27p per bar. You jest surely? Well it's true but is it any good or even worth 27p? Tesco Value chocolate is part of their Value Range & is packaged in their distinct stripes. It comes in both Milk & Plain Chocolate varieties. Both are quite chunky & thick, not wafer thin & both have 8 chunks per bar. Firstly the Plain. I buy this mainly for cooking. It is very dark. Has a light smell of chocolate. Has a deep choclate taste but isn't very creamy. It is great for baking & I use is in Chocolate Cake. If you just want to eat chocolate - go for the Milk. The milk Chocolate is very ...  Read the complete review
