      Try this...

Tesco Mushroom, Bacon and Red Pepper Quiche

I love quiche and often make my own because they can be quite expensive shop bought, but seeing this priced at 99p on a half price offer I popped one in the trolley, with a picnic in mind. Well today I had that picnic and my verdict is: Delicious!!

At 239 calories for a quarter of quiche, served with a large salad this could make a decent light meal. It would be difficult to stop at a quarter which is why I only packed enough for the two of use in the picnic box and have save the rest for another day., when I will probably eat it warmed with a jacket spud and baked beans, another favourite of mine.

The pieces of smoked bacon, red peppers and mushrooms are easily identifiable in the creamy egg custard mixture. This smells lovely, probably the sweetness of the red peppers peaking through.

On taste the shortcrust pastry is very nice, slightly crumbly, and not too 'crusty'. The mushroom and peppers are al dente which is how I like them when cooked. The bacon appears to be only lightly smoked, but is very tasty.

On the whole I love this and it has a great price tag at the moment.... and I would still buy is at full price.
