A delicious margherita from the Tesco Pizzeria. (Tesco Pizzeria Margherita Pizza)

Advantages: Delicious taste, easy to cook, reasonable price, lovely cheese and juicy tomatoes.

For dinner this evening I decided that we would have something that was quick and simple and when I saw two particular Tesco pizzas on offer (2 for £3.50) I decided to pick up this margherita one along with a stonebaked meat one.

The pizza comes in a square cardboard box and is wrapped in celophane, simply remove this and then place in the oven on 200 degrees for around 15-20 minutes.

This particular pizza has a stone baked thin and crispy base and is topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella, cheddar, emmental and some sliced cherry tomatoes. The pizza cooks very well and the cheese will melt all in to one delicious gooey mess and even though there was a large amount of cheese on top of the pizza I did not find that the base was soggy in any place and the whole thing was nice and evenly cooked in the oven.

The tomatoes were very juicy and tasted nice when I sampled one alone. The cheeses complimented each other very well and melted and cooked very nicely. The tomato base was rich and there was just enough to stop the base from being dry. The whole pizza worked very well for me and I actually enjoyed it more than the meat feast one that we had.

Margherita pizza is not my usual favourite but tonight I really fancied a change from the norm and was very pleased with my choice. There is around 500 calories for half of this pizza and it was really crisp and luxurious and it was worth every single calorie!

I would recommend keeping your eye on this pizza around the 15 minute mark as it could easily begin to burn and blacken around the edges although I found our one took around 25 minutes on the bottom shelf of the oven (the meaty pizza was cooking on the top!).

I am going to rate this 5/5 as I did not have a single bad thing to say about this pizza. It's usual price is £2.19 which I think is very reasonable for 420g of pizza (enough for two adults with medium appetites!) and I will be purchasing this again (even when it's not on special offer).

Summary: A delicious pizza that both Tom & I enjoyed.
