Advantages: Full of flavour, good value for money

Disadvantages: Fattening, only available at Tesco

I try to eat healthily to a certain extent but every now and then I like to treat myself. One of my favourite treats is Tesco’s Raspberry Rapture Cheesecake.

Packaging
The product comes with two slices of cheesecake included, each cheesecake being 109.5 grams. The slices come in a see through container which pops open at the corner and lifts off so you are able to get the cheesecake out.
On the top of the packaging there is a label stating what is inside, a small description of the cheesecake and also a picture of some raspberries.

Price
This product is only available at Tesco where it costs £1.89 for both slices which I think is very reasonable considering this will do pudding for two people for under £2!

The Cheesecake Itself
The Cheesecake is a decent sized slice and certainly looks very appealing. The slices are just over an inch tall and nearly 4 inches long. There are lots of fresh raspberries covering the top of the cheesecake, then they creamy ‘cheese’ section followed by the crunchy biscuit base.
The cheesecake also has a good texture, with the cheesecake section being nice and thick but still being soft and creamy at the same time. Some cheesecakes I have tried don’t seem to have a very firm texture but this has a perfect cheesecake texture.

Taste
This is one of the nicest raspberry cheesecakes I have tried (except for the ones my Mum makes). The raspberries covering on the top is quite sharp but not unpleasantly so. The sharpness of the raspberries contrasts really well with the creaminess of the next layer. There are actually swirls of raspberries hidden within the cheese section which is very appealing as you can really taste the contrast between the sharp raspberries and the creamy middle section. The middle section tastes mildly of vanilla, but this is only a slight underlying taste which I think works well. One slight downfall is that there are quite a few pips in the raspberry section. To be honest, this doesn’t really bother me but I know my brother avoids this product because he hates having to pick the pips out of his teeth afterwards.
Last of all the digestive biscuit base is crunchy and contrasts well with the other layers. I sometimes find that the biscuit bases on shop bought items can go slightly soggy but that isn’t the case with this product. You can really taste the butter that is used with the biscuits to make the base and I think that all three layers really compliment each other.

Summary
I think this cheesecake is really good value for money at only £1.89 for 2 slices. The cheesecake itself is very tasty and all the different flavours and textures really work well together. Another bonus for me is that this cheesecake is suitable for vegetarians as many others are not because they contain gelatine.
The packaging is perfect and the slices are really easy to get out of the packaging without scraping half the topping from the cheesecake!

Summary: A delicious pudding or snack

I often pick this (these?!) up for a treat for us - they are so scrummy drizzled in fresh cream.... hmm, I feel a quick stop-off at the local Tesco might be in order tonight!
