Rhubarb and Custard sweets are a great boiled sweet with tons of flavour. I never actually eat rhubarb with custard, I only ever put it into a crumble which I eat on it's own or with vanilla icecream. So these were a bit of an adventure to me especially as I normally don't like the taste of custard. I bought a packet of 227g for 79p. I chose the Tesco's own version. Rhubarb and custard sweets were one of the great delights of my childhood. Hard-boiled sweets made up of two flavours - the sweet, slightly creamy "custard" flavour, and the sourer refreshing "rhubarb" flavour - they used to stand in great big jars in the sweet shops, sold by the quarter. But time has passed, and there aren't so many sweetshops around here any more. Most have closed, or started concentrating more on selling newspapers. It's been a while since I've seen these. It seems that Tesco have decided to pick up where the sweetshops left off and start producing them though. At 79p for 227g maybe they're in bags a bit too ...
