Cold dark evenings are not far away, the sort of night when you want a sweet warm filling pudding.
I think I might have found just the one for you.

It's a Tesco light and sweet syrup sponge pudding. This style of syrup sponge pudding is available in a pack of 2 individual puddings wieghing260g (130g) each pudding
,or as 1 larger 500g pudding serving 4or 5 people.

There are several different syrup sponge puddings in the pudding aisle at Tesco.The pack for these is a light honey gold colour.

The 500g pudding costs £2.50. A smaller pack 260g a 2pk costs £1.70 on offer at the moment 2 packs for £3. Expensive when compared to your own home made on but worth it if you have not got the time to make puddings.

When you get home with one of these you can either keep it refrigerated use before the best before date or freeze it for later consumption.

Open the pack and find the sponge pudding on a tray ready to put in oven or microwave. The precise cooking instructions are on the pack, but it takes about 5 minutes to cook the larger pudding in the microwave 35 minutes in the oven.

The cooked sponge is a light golden brown.The sponge is a good texture and there is a good layer of syrup underneath it .This pudding tastes good not too stodgy but very sweet and syrupy of course, it's a real winters pudding.

We had one of these puddings one cold day recently with some custard it was lovely warming, satisfying. I expect shall be buying some again for a winter's day meal.
