Advantages: Good size and shape for children

Disadvantages: Fat, sugar ...

Malted Milk Biscuits are known as Cow Biscuits in our house, because they have a picture of a cow stamped on top.

Now, personally, I'd rather have the ones with chocolate on top. But we buy these for the kids. They are a good size and shape for a small child to hold and eat without creating too much mess. The taste is not very strong - I'm not sure I'd know what malt tasted like - it's kind of mild and milky. They're not very crunchy, quite soft. They dissolve in the mouth quite quickly which is probably why small children like them. They don't fall apart into crumbs too easily which is why the parents like them.

I'd rather give them a banana, but biscuits are good to have in your bag for those emergency moments in queues! And for when they've already munched 12 pieces of fruit, are still hungry, and its an hour till dinner.

They don't contain trans-fats, and the salt content is about the same as bread. The traffic lights on the packet say they are high in sugar and fat, and medium in salt. Well they are are biscuits. They've also got milk, wheat, and gluten in, for those who need to know for allergies.

They are currently 35p for a 200g packet of about 25 biscuits.

Summary: Biscuits of choice in our house
