Advantages: Cheap, Tasty
Disadvantages: Cream is a Bit Bland
Tesco Sticky Toffee Cheesecake is an absolute bargain buy at £1 for a 400g cheesecake! What's more, it actually tastes really nice for that price!!
Tesco Sticky Toffee Cheesecake comes in a deep, brown box (it's been changed since the dooyoo picture was uploaded) and inside there's a foil case that the cheesecake sits in. This is a frozen product, so you need to pull it out of the box to defrost it at room temperature ideally, although if you can wait a bit longer you could just put the box straight into the fridge the day before you want it.
The cheesecake is a bit fiddly to get out of the thin foil case, but it has to be done because the foil will rip if you try to cut on top of it. The best way I found is to tear down one side of the foil, work it off part way, then carefully slide the cheesecake onto a plate while pulling the foil bottom away at the same time. Just try it and you'll work out what I mean!
Anyway, once served, this is one of the tastiest desserts I think I've ever had in this price range. The cheesecake is a good depth, with plenty of each layer included. The cheesecake part of this is creamy and rich, with just enough sweetness to it. The digestive base is crumbly but moist, and the toffee sauce is to die for. I like the white chocolate shavings on the top as they compliment the toffee perfectly.
The only bit I'm not so mad about is the cream, as it tastes very artificial to me. The box does say it's real dairy cream, but it doesn't quite taste it to me. It sort of coats my mouth a bit and has a slightly strange, bland taste to it in places. It's acceptable though, and it doesn't ruin an otherwise enjoyable dessert.
Summary: Highly Recommended
