Advantages: great taste, very cheap
Disadvantages: high in sugar and calories
Oh, my secret addiction! If there's one type of sweets that I could never resist than it would be strawberry laces; so sweet, so strawberry, so great to play with!
The packing looks quite nice and is obviously designed to attract children; it's purple with a little blue 'Monster' and a small window through which you can see the laces.
Don't even try to get a single lace out of the pack, they all stick together and the best is to open the pack and take all of them out. They are quite thin and really stick together (which gives you the perfect excuse to eat more than one at once).
As soon as you open the pack you'll smell a quite intense and sweet scent which is not instantly recognisable as strawberry but it's nevertheless very pleasant. However, the laces definitely taste of strawberry! Of course it's not comparable to fresh strawberries, it's more like strawberry mixed with this rubber flavour that goes along with this kind of sweet. But that makes the taste even more pleasant and reminds me of all these childhood days playing with strawberry laces.
The texture is lovely, not too soft so you can really chew the laces - I say laces as they are quite thin and several together are a lot easier to eat.
Don't expect anything too healthy here, one pack of 75g contains 300calories which is not too bad for a sweet treat I guess. But for me they never last long and I could easily eat the whole pack in one day.
They are on offer at the moment, buy 3 for 1pound, or if you just want one pack you'll have the pay around 37p (I say 'around' as prices at Tesco's change pretty quickly).
