Disadvantages: They Taste of Nothing But Sour Sugar

Tesco Strawberry Pencils are a sweet that really surprised me. They cost 37p for a 75g packet, though there's an ongoing offer available on these and others in the range where you can buy any three for £1.

Tesco Strawberry Pencils are basically long, thin strawberry flavoured sweets that are packed with sherbert in the centre. When I say the sweets are strawberry flavoured though, what I really mean is that Tesco called them strawberry flavoured and they're coloured pink. In reality, they taste a bit like I imagine newspaper would.

The sherbert in the middle isn't very nice either, as it's really quite sour and sugary. Mixed with the pretend-strawberry flavour, it makes for a pretty awful tasting sweet that I just don't understand the appeal of. And not only do they taste really bad, but they actually hurt my teeth trying to eat them.

As a general rule, I have a sweet tooth. But I also have other taste buds that work, and in this case they're all working to tell me not to eat this sugar-coated sawdust. I find it especially disappointing that I can't even really taste and strawberry in these, and that's what the predominant flavour is supposed to be!

I wouldn't recommend these to anybody.
