Advantages: delicious
Disadvantages: unhealthy
I was watching the Simpsons, amd Homer was sitting eating doughnut, as per usual! It looked so delicious and exciting (albeit a cartoon image!). I had a sudden craving for doughnuts and decided to go along to Tesco, taking the 'massive' two minute walk from my house, to seek out something to satisfy my craving. It was then that I discovered the strawberry ring doughnuts.
Packaging:
The doughnuts come in a plastic litte case. This is clear so you can see right in to what you are buying. It is not flat though, as each doughnut sits nesting inside a little cup shape, which it fits snuggly into. On the front there is a little sticky label folded over the edge to keep it sealed. This tells us the name of the product, and where it is from (so, Strawberry Ring doughnuts, Tesco). The price is also stated, but that is all.
First impressions:
When you first open up the box, you are hit instantly with a sweet strawberry scent. It's qutie powerful, and you cannot really smell the freshness of the doughnut itself. It is very tempting too! Holding the doughnut in the hand, you will see it looks quite delicious too! The base is a golden brown and very soft. On the top there is a pale pink thick icing layer, which is provding such a sweet aroma! The sprinkes on the top are a mix of pinks and white, and provide a very attractive pattern!
Taste:
Of course how the product looks is important,b ut let's face it ~ taste is everything! I broke the soft douhnut in half and popped one end into my mouth, biting a chunk off.As I began to chew, the sugary sweet strawberry flavour was clearly dominating! It was a very delicious flavour too, so I cant complain! Now and again I would get a taste of the bread part, which was quite bland but balanced out the flavour!
Nutrition:
I think everybody in the world knows that douhnuts are unhealthy! I dont even think they have a nutrition (!). I went to check the label on this product to find out just how bad the damage was, and to my surprise, I discoverd that it was not even stated! That really does not give a good impression!
Price
I paid £1.10 for these, but the price is always fluctuating for the four pack of aroun £1 to £1.50. Its not a bad price, considering that is as little as 25p for a doughnut! How often can you go to the bakers and ask for one of that price!
These are delicious doughnuts and perfect for a treat now and agaiN! Thouh not for everybody, as they are most likely rocketing in calories and fat, and can be quite sweet to!
