Review of Tesco Strawberry Trifle Triple Pack Tesco supermarket are well known for their range of own branded goods, some are excellent, some not so good. This particular product falls into the excellent category! **The Product** As the name implies, this is a triple pack of individual strawberry trifles. The product packaging describes the trifles as "12% Strawberries in a fruit jelly, sponge, custard and whipped cream". The trifles are presented in a clear plastic pot with a clear perspex lid. The whipped cream is clearly visible through this and looks very pretty and tempting with it's rosette pattern! On ...  Read the complete review

Sunday afternoon tea was always the same, thinly sliced bread and butter with homemade jam followed by fruit and tinned cream or on high day and a holiday a homemade trifle. If by any unearthly chance a small amount of sponge cake had managed to survive in the cake tin then on Saturday it was used up in the trifle base. A ready made trifle would have been seen as the lazy way out plus totally unacceptable! How times have changed, now we have hundreds of delicious ready made puddings, mousses, yoghurt's and trifles at our fingertips everyday of the week. Nothing ever could come close to the homemade version, the left over cake was crumbled into the ...  Read the complete review

On the very seldom occassion, when there is only hubby and myself for dinner, I always like to have a few small individual desserts in the fridge or freezer. The reason for this is, that if I had a full size dessert for just the two of us, I would polish off the leftovers. Recently I have bought the individual strrawberry trifles from Tesco. These trifles come in a pack containing three trifles. The trifles are inside a wraparound, cardboard covering. It tell you that it contains three rich, creamy and heavenly strawberry trifles. There is also a picture of the trifle and it looks delicious. Each trifle comes in a clear plastic tub with a ...  Read the complete review

As most of you know Dave is currently working in Edinburgh on a contract basis so he leaves home on Monday morning and returns q week the following Friday. When he goes he takes his little fridge with him packed with goodies so that he doesn't have to go shopping as soon as he gets there. Amongst said goodies there is always a pack of three little trifles. The ones in question this week were Tesco Strawberry Trifles as they were reduced to £1 for all three! As Dave has come down with a bad cold he hasn't been able to drive up to Scotland this week so the trifles needed to be eaten or they would have been out of date. We had one each after our ...  Read the complete review

I used to always buy ordinary strawberry trifles for my husband but, once I started on my diet, I decided that I couldn't eat these. However, just sitting watching my husband eating his strawberry trifles used to make me drool. Oh, I used to think, why can't I have a trifle that I can eat on my diet. Having a sweet tooth I really needed to find some kind of instant dessert that I could use to give myself a treat without being harmful to my weight loss. Well then, whilst doing my weekly shopping at Tescos and looking at the Mullerlight yogurts and thinking "oh, they get so boring sometimes" I decided to have a good look on the dessert shelves. ...  Read the complete review
