I have been a fan of Tesco's Tiger bread ever since it was first introduced. The reasons I was drawn to it are several. The first thing that drew me to the Tiger bread was the mouthwatering smell that wafted tantalisingly underneath my nostrils as they were stacked on the shelves. I can't quite describe the 'irrestible' smell of it - except to say that it smelled very crusty and that it was mouth wateringly 'distinctive'. No bread had ever smelled like that before!! Another other reason I bought it was that it was, at that time, very reasonably priced and you could get a 'huge' loaf for about 75p! It made a change from ...

There's nothing better to eat on a weekend for lunch than some freshly baked bread, I often buy a loaf from Tesco. I prefer freshly baked bread because it's so much fresher and softer. My favourite loaf to buy is Tesco Tiger Bread. It's called a Tiger Loaf because it resembles a tiger in colour if not shape. It is a large oblong 800g loaf. It's mainly a golden colour but quite a few parts of it look burnt, not his is not because the bakers were having a bad day, it's meant to be that's way, it makes it look like a tiger. Every now and then, I like to treat myself to some of the freshly baked bread from my local Tesco's bakery. One of my favorite types is Tiger Bread. Why Is It Called Tiger Bread? This bread is referred to as Tiger bread because of the pattern which develops across the top of the bread during the baking process. This is achieved by spreading rice paste and sesame oil on the top of the bread before it is baked. Then, while the bread is baking, the paste dries and cracks which creates stripes across the top of the bread, similar in look and colour to the stripes of a Tiger, hence the name Tiger Bread.
