This Cream of Tomato Soup is part of the Tesco Value range and priced at just 16p for a 400g tin. A very cheap price compared to any other tin of Soup, but would it taste any good?
The packaging doesn't look that exciting, but Value ranges never do! It is a can which has a white lable wrapped around it. The writing on the label is all in blue and it has the Tesco Value brand in the normal blue and red colourings, So only 2 colours on the tin, but it stands out on the shelf, as you can recognise the White label amoungst all the red tins. No ring pull on this, so time to dig out the Can opener. Considering this sits in a cupboard and only comes out to empty the tin into a device for cooking it with, I don't care much how it looks.
The only 2 ways I can find to cook Soup is in the Microwave and this cooks well in approx 2 minutes. The other way is to put in a pan and cook on the hob. I normally cook on the hob, as I always find that Soup goes everywhere when I cook in the Microwave.
So what does this look like? It is more an orang-y colour and looks slightly watery. The taste of it is slightly Cream-y and is has a nice taste of Tangy Tomato to it. it isn't that Rich tasting, but it is a nice Tomato taste nonetheless.
I will buy this again as it is a nice Soup and a great price. If you want a really tangy Tomato taste then it's best to stick to a brand name, but this is very good for the bargain price it is!
