I'm a student, so naturally I don't have a lot of money to spend, even on necessary things like food. So, I tend to look for the cheapest meals I can find - and what better place to do so than Tesco? One day I was in Tesco, buying dinner for myself, when I came across Tesco Value Bacon Flavour Instant Noodles. They have similar packaging to Batchelor's Supernoodles, just a bit plainer and with Tesco's branding. Thinking that they would probably taste horrible, i went ahead and bought a few packets anyway, as they only cost 8p each! At home, I made a couple of packets, which only took a few minutes and was very easy - all i had to do was boil a pan of ... Read the complete review

I am on a real cost-saving mission of late and trying to save the pennies wherever I can. This is a real bargain product for just 10p and I had one of these packets as part of my dinner this evening. The packet is very simple, it's a white plastic bag with the Tesco value logo (blue, white & red) and a picture of some noodles on a fork. It's very basic packaging but then I'd rather have a cheaper price and a basic looking product than pay a premium for something that looks nice in my trolley. Once the packet is opened there is a block of noodles and a sachet of the bacon flavouring (value flavouring apparently - no surprise there). I put the ... Read the complete review

I first tried these when my mum brought some home and I thought Id give them a go. I boilded water in a pan and popped the noodles in. Once most of the water had dissolved I added the bacon flavoured powder and mixed until it looked ready enough to eat. Upon my first impression was that these werent too bad... not bad at all! The noodles were not too soft and had a nice texture to them. They were pretty much just exactly like a leading brand that I usually eat in fact. I started to analyse the flavour of the noodles, which could have been better and a little stronger, but hey this was Tesco Value after all. What did I expect. I think the most ... For some reason, Tesco Value always fascinates me. My mum never buys it, even when we're poor as doormice, so I always wanted to try it at any opportunity. So, being bored and hungry one day, I nipped to Tesco in search of a tasty quick snack that would leave me some change for an Iced Split at the Greggs next door (teehee.) And lo behold, 8 measly pence for noodles?! What an utter bargain! I can buy these as a substitute for Pot Noodles just by rummaging in my pocket for loose change! Wowee! I decided to try both the bacon flavour and the chicken flavour, for under 20p. Still enough for that iced split! I purchased my goods and went on my way ... Read the complete review

Tesco Value Bacon Flavour Instant Noodles are available to buy at tesco in store or online at tesco.com. I am fan of very simple foods and can therefore usually eat quite cheaply, but there is always room for improvement! We bunged a couple of packs of these extra cheap noodles (10p at my store - though some people say that are 8p - maybe it varies??) in the trolley as well as our usual batchelors just to try to see if there was much difference. When I opened the sealed keep-fresh pack I was greeted with what looks like pale poorly supernoodles. These noodles are really white and look ill. The block of noodles did seem a little more sparse than ... Read the complete review
