I have to confess to being a bit of a 'brand snob', my husband often berates me, saying that all too often i judge a product by its brand name, or the pretty packaging-a bad (not to mention expensive) trait to have, and one that leads to manufacturers designing expensive colourful packaging and using harmful food dyes to make food look nicer for longer, no doubt. Now, one of the few exceptions i have (although i am gradually getting better, but theres still alot of things i wont go for the cheap option on, like meats), i like these beans! its not even the fact that they're cheaper than other leading brands, i genuinely like the taste of these beans. It may have something ... Read the complete review

There are few dishes that I believe belong to Great Britain more than Europe, and baked beans are one of these. Tesco sell value banked beans, which are part of their value products. They are sold in a tin of 420 gramms and will set you back 29 pennies for each tin you buy. 1 Pound will buy 3 and you have some spare change! The idea of saving few pennies on baked beans may not appeal to everyone, but I can tell you that they are a very good product. There are pently of beans inside (I have not finished counting them!) and they come in a nice tomato sauce. They can be eaten straight from the tin (erm, yes, you need to ... Read the complete review

My mum buys these when she does the weekly shopping as she says they are good value for money but personaly I cant stand then they are revolting. The sauce in these beans is very watery and a lot lighter in colour than other brands, it tastes weaker and tastes very very sweet, so much so it is actually quite sickly tasting which I realy didnt like as beans are supposed to be savory as far as I am concerned. Another bad point to these beans is that they are a lot harder in texture than other brands of beans, I dont know if this is because they havent been boiled for long enough before they were put in the tin or if they have been boiled for too long ... Most items in the tesco value range are actually quite good despite being cheaper in pice than leading brands but this was not the case with there beans. I brought a couple of tins of these from tesco obviously and upon opening the can noticed that there is a lot of sauce and it looks very watery. I emptied the tin of baked beans into a tub to heat them up and was very disapointed with what i saw, less than half the tin had actually contained beans and the reat was just the sauce. The sauce although there was a lot of it was very light in colour, very watery and very sweet, not nice at all. The beans seemed darker in colour ... Read the complete review

Tesco manage to offer very good prices by offering their own products. In a way they cut the middleman, and this is only good news for the final consumer. I like baked beans, no funny jokes here, please! I normally buy them from Tesco. They only have one size, the 420 gramms tin, which cost 28 pennies. I regret they only offer them in this size because for me it is a bit too much, I do not eat all of them in one go. Ideally I think I would like to see a 300 gramms tin. Apart from this, the beans are very tasty and go well with bacon and eggs (or should I say "eggs and bacon"?) Not much more to say here, surely a ... Read the complete review
