Advantages: cheap, light sauce, plenty of beans

Disadvantages: plain packaging, but dont be put off

I have to confess to being a bit of a 'brand snob', my husband often berates me, saying that all too often i judge a product by its brand name, or the pretty packaging-a bad (not to mention expensive) trait to have, and one that leads to manufacturers designing expensive colourful packaging and using harmful food dyes to make food look nicer for longer, no doubt. Now, one of the few exceptions i have (although i am gradually getting better, but theres still alot of things i wont go for the cheap option on, like meats), i like these beans! its not even the fact that they're cheaper than other leading brands, i genuinely like the taste of these beans. It may have something to do with my parents reverting to using them when i was younger, and i complained like mad, saying i could only like heinz (just like i could only eat 'orange' cheese at one point) and my parents gave me some and showed me the empty heinz can-after i ate them, they confessed that they'd shown me an old can, and in fact i had eaten the tesco ones. well that made me realise how silly i had been and when i next had heinz ones i had to confess i actually liked the tesco ones better. the sauce is alot thinner than heinz, but thats how i like it-i should probably add, that whenever i have beans of any make, i always add HP brown sauce to them when cooking for more flavour anyway, so i suppose that may thicken the sauce slightly anyway-a habit i picked up from my mother. definately better value for money and taste even better than leading brands.

Summary: tasty good value beans that stand up to the leading competitors.
