Tesco Value Baked Beans.

These are the normal baked beans in a tomato sauce so I won't bother explaining what they are as I am sure you are all quite aware.

So I am going to jump straight to the point.

INGREADIENTS.....

Water, haricot beans(40%), tomato purée (14%),sugar, modified maize starch, salt, onion powder, paprika, and flavouring. So pretty artificial I say but they do taste quite nice.

NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION.........

Per 210g serving provides:-

Energy = 530kj / 125 kcal
Protein= 9.9g
Carbohydrate = 18.9g
Of which sugars = 7.9g
Fat = 1.1g
Of which saturates = 0.2g
Fibre = 7.4g
Sodium = 0.5g

And an average tin of 420g gives 2 servings of 210g each which contains 1.3g of salt each.
GUIDLINE DAILY AMOUNT INFO.....

Each serving of 210g =
125 calories / 6% of you daily intake.
9g sugar = 9% of you guideline daily amount
1.1g fat = 2% of you guideline daily amount
0.2g saturates = 1% of you guideline daily amount
1.3g salt = 21% (pretty high) of you guideline daily amount

ALERGY ADVICE...

Recipe: no nuts
Ingredients: cannot guarantee nut free
Factory: No Nuts.

This product is also suitable for vegetarians.

COST....

These can cost you anything from 6p to 18p. What a bargain hey & they taste pretty good too.

TASTE & QUALITY.....

These beans have a very strong tomato taste with the beans being like the normal taste of the only way I can explain it is like mini potatoes with the soft centre of the baked bean. I found these baked beans quite nice with a pleasant taste to them. I think they are pretty much the same as any other tinned baked bean product out there at the moment.

The quality is really good for what it costs as when I opened the tin I expected there to mainly watered down tomato sauce but to my surprise there was allot of beans and the tomato sauce was not to runny with a nice texture and the appearance was quite appealing too. Bargain hey....

PRODUCT PACKAGING....

They come in a tin like any others and the label is quite plain with a red and white background and in large writing it says baked beans in tomato sauce with a fork full of beans it doesn't really look appealing but its like they say don't judge a book by its cover, as when you enter the tin and warm up your beans they are like all the others out there.

Oh I nearly forgot also on the product label you have in large writing what nutrition it contains and all the ingredients along with how to prepare the beans.

So overall the product packaging is quite boring but very detailed with allot of information with regard to your health and daily intake.

WOULD I RECOMEND......

YES, if you like the odd tin of baked beans with your dinner then give these a try as they wont sting your pocket or your mouth & for all you students out there that have to watch the pennies...give them a go too as what have you got to loose.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed. Katie x

Summary: not too watery and kind to your pennies
