These days lots of people are trying to save money. As a family we have decided to try to cut down our massive food bill without giving up good food. We usually shop in Tesco and decided to give their value range a try. We had already tried the Tesco value tomatoes and given them the thumbs up,so when we needed to buy baked beans we decided to swop our usual Heinz brand for the Tesco value brand.

Tesco value beans come in a very plain looking tin,and I admit that I much prefer the colourful blue and silver tin my usual brand arrive in! However the fact that I,along with millions of others,judge the contents by the packaging just goes to show that we have been convinced by the advertising!

On opening the tin and tipping the contents into a saucepan I thought the juice looked a bit watery. The beans themselves looked very similar to any other baked beans I have eaten.

The most important thing for me is the taste! Tesco value beans are a bit on the thin side if you know what I mean. However I really liked the taste. They are not as sweet as some other brands I have eaten and on checking the ingredients I confirmed that they do indeed contain less sugar.

I really recommend Tesco value beans and at 18p for a tin you won't be breaking the bank!
