Advantages: Very cheap

Disadvantages: Horrible sweet sauce and tough beans

I have tried all the supermarket own brand of beans but have to say that not one of them is a patch on the real deal - Heinz.

I go through a spell every so often and think that perhaps they will improve their recipes to keep up with the market leaders but am always dissapointed.

The beans themselves always seem to appear tougher somehow than the Heinz ones and the sauces are always watery and overly sweetened - yuk !

It is great that there is such a variety on the shelves.

I'm sure others will be just as passionate about their own choices, but for me its never going to be anything but Heinz.

I'm not brand loyal on most food items and will happily pick up own brands including Tesco Value for lots of other items like rice pudding or custard, its just beans that I have an issue with - sorry !

Summary: Not for me
