Advantages: they would be filling if I could eat enough

Disadvantages: i could not eat them, they are small, pale and skinless.

Tesco Value Baked Beans was another of my girlfriend's bright ideas when trying to save us a few pennies in the 'downshift challenge' I believe they are currently 29p for a 420g tin and available at any Tesco store or online at tesco.co.uk.

Now I am a Heinz man through and through and I did not think that these would come close. And I was right.

The beans are quite poor quality, with loads of loose bits of the skins floating around in the thin watery tomato sauce. I had them in a fry-up - my girlfriend did not tell me that they were not my usual brand and straight away on the plate I could tell that they were a much cheaper version. As I said the sauce is rubbish, really thin and not the rich creamy texture I am used to and know and love. The beans are much smaller and the beans I am used too and they fall apart (with the skins coming off) easily. They are really pale looking and do not have they lovely rich tomato colour I would want.

Overall they are just as I have expected. No comparison to Heinz

Summary: I would not bother with these again
