Advantages: Value for money

Disadvantages: A bit too watery

The Tesco value products really offer some real gems in terms of price to value.

Their baked beans are one of these. To be honest I am not very good at remembering prices, but a tin of 420 cost around 20 pennies.

They are very rich in protein and not too fat and I use them only when I prepare breakfast with eggs with bacon and...you guessed it..baked beans.

There are 2 things I normally look for in baked beans and they are the quality and texture of the beans, off course, and the sauce. I like the sauce to be thick, not too watery.

Well the beans are ok, they r not soggy or anything and the sauce is surely not the thickest it can get, but it is also ok, it is surely a tad watery but remember that you are paying virtually nothing, by the way it just occurred to me that if you try these beans, even if you do not like them, by writing a review on review you will more than recover the cost of the beans!

Back to the beans, I normally use one tin for my boyfriend and myself and I guess that if there were a third person it would be even better since for the 2 of us 420 gramms is a bit too much.

I never left the tin open since I know that normally these products need to be eaten once out of the tin, I guess you can probably leave them for 24 hours in the fridge thouogh.

So, to wrap it up, very cheap baked beans, a bit too watery, but you pay nearly nothing and for the breakfast I prepare, they do the trick. Incidentally, I also buy eggs and bacon from Tesco, so the cost of the breakfast is less than 1 quid for the 2 of us!

I was wary about them too at first but you can't really taste the difference.

I haven't tried these, but for around twenty pennies I would be willing to give them a try :)
