Advantages: Low price, tasty, soft.

Disadvantages: No ring-pull, slightly too much sauce, sauce is runny.

***THE PRODUCT***
A 420g size tin of economy quality baked beans in tomato sauce. The packaging is different from the picture seen on this page. Apart from the basic red, white, and blue background, there is now also a photo of the beans themselves - this looks a little bit more professional in my opinion but is not necessary to encourage me to purchase it. They are currently priced at £0.29 per tin.

***HEALTHY?***
All the ingredients barring the very small percentage of 'flavourings' are completely natural, there are no artificial sweeteners too. Beans are well known as a good source of protein and carbohydrates. The label states 'now 50% less salt' which is great if you are trying to reduce your intake - too much salt can increase the risk of heart disease and other related conditions; however, half a can still contains 21% of your GDA so you still have to be careful. The other thing to look out for is the sugar content, particularly if you are diabetic or have an intolerance to certain sugars - there is 10% of your GDA per half a can.

***THE TASTE AND GENERAL QUALITY***
The sauce is not too sweet but slightly thinner than its more expensive rivals. The beans are nice and soft and do not get stuck in the teeth like other economy beans that I have tried. If you prefer your sauce a bit richer, I have found that adding a little brown sauce to the beans when warming them helps.

There does seem to be slightly more sauce added to bulk things out but this is easily remedied by draining them slightly before serving. They come without a ring-pull which creates more washing-up.

They are pretty versatile and go well on toast or with fry-ups. They are great for eating healthily on a budget too as they are so much cheaper than any other brands.

I first bought these beans when I was low on cash and have been buying them ever since. Although they are not as good as the leading brands, they certainly come a close second.

Summary: A good budget buy that does its job.

Many thanks, I'll bear that in mind.

Try structuring your review a little more. i.e discusing the ring pull before the taste and texture or in a disadvantages section at the end. xx
