Tesco Value Baked Beans in Tomato sauce are the supermarkets budget alternative to premium brands. They are a bargain at 29p for 420grams. The distinctive white and blue packaging makes the product easily identified on the supermarket shelf. I have bought several tins of the value beans and have had various luck ... I first bought these beans when low on cash and have been buying them ever since. Although they are not as good quality as the leading brands, they certainly come a close second. The sauce is not too sweet but slightly thinner than its rivals. The beans are nice and soft and do not get stuck in the teeth like other economy beans ... Read the complete review

Tesco Value Baked Beans Presentation: It looks cheap with blue stripes on a white background and the words Tesco Value in bright red, this really doesn't look too sharp and immediately gives a poor image of the product. Price: I bought a couple recently for 25p a tin, this is fairly good value, although not as cheap as ... Read the complete review

Tesco value products can sometimes be ok and sometimes even be very good but I have to tell you that is not the case with their value beans. Unlike Heinz beans, the sauce these beans are in is very watery and almost colourless, there is no thick rich dark orange sauce to be found here, the beans themselves also seem a bit pale and ... I have to say I do love a nice plate of beans on toast for brekkie at the weekend. My fella swears by the leading brand in the green tin, whereas I honestly can't tell the difference. Packaging: It's OK I guess for a Value product. Not the most exciting but it stands out on the shelf. Price: Around 30p (it tends ... Read the complete review

***** Introduction ***** Having heard many good reports that the Tesco value baked beans were if fact very good value for money, swayed me into trying them. This has been a very big mistake and I am writing this review to inform all of you other consumers that these are not worth the money. ***** The Baked Beans ... Read the complete review

One of my favourite foods is toast and weekly I like to find things to top it with. I love baked and a blob of brown sauce over it so when I saw these priced at 29p a can I thought I'd give them a go for my tea tonight! The Packaging: Red and white can with a photograph of the beans on the front and in red, white and navy ... Read the complete review

This product seems to have very mixed opinions! Personally I don't think they are that bad, but would only buy them if I was particularly strapped for cash. Ok, details. Money wise they are 29p a can. That's just under half of what you would pay for Heinz at 64p. Fat and calorie wise there's not much difference. Heinz have ONE more calorie but ... I am, and always have been, a bit of a fan of baked beans despite the rather unfortunate connotations that beans associate with chronic flatulence. (Blazing Saddles comes to mind.) In terms of 'own brand' products (see: my review on gravy granules, below) I have no problem with this kind of marketing. Having worked for a well-know ... Read the complete review

I've been trying to cut down on my food spending recently, by "down-ranking" as much as possible. The idea is to buy items 1 level cheaper than you normally would. Any items where you can't tell the difference, you stick with the cheaper one or even downgrade another rank in your next shop, until you've hit your level where you're ... Read the complete review

I'm sure we've all had those shops before pay day where you've got the calculator out whilst going round the supermarket! It was probably one of those trips that first made me pick up the value branded bean at Tesco rather than the king of the beans, Heinz! Although the price has risen you can currently buy a 420g tin for 29p. The ... Read the complete review

The Tesco value products really offer some real gems in terms of price to value. Their baked beans are one of these. To be honest I am not very good at remembering prices, but a tin of 420 cost around 20 pennies. They are very rich in protein and not too fat and I use them only when I prepare breakfast with eggs with bacon ... Read the complete review

Tesco value beans..... 150 words, this might take a bit of waffling, firstly they are cheap, very cheap 12 pence a can, that's a bargain ! Let's start from the outside, they come in a handy can sized can and it's got the name of the thing inside on the outside.the can keeps the beans fresh and can be easilly opened by the application ... Tesco Value Baked Beans was another of my girlfriend's bright ideas when trying to save us a few pennies in the 'downshift challenge' I believe they are currently 29p for a 420g tin and available at any Tesco store or online at tesco.co.uk. Now I am a Heinz man through and through and I did not think that these would come close. And I ... Read the complete review

It is inevitable that any value baked beans are going to be compared to the almighty king of the food stuff - Heinz. Whilst I did notice a very slight decline in quality from those beans, these still go well with a burger and chips in particular, as well as a variety of other meals. Nutritional Information (per tin): Protein = ... Read the complete review

Our food shopping bill has almost doubled in the last year or so and we are always looking for offers and supermarket version that are as good as the branded product which save a bit of money. Being only 29p you look at the tin and think should I or should I not at these hard economic times would I give up Hienz for these lets see. The initial look of the tin is the usual Tesco Value layout, red, white and blue plain and simple. Anyways to the main part the actual beans itself. They look the same as any beans but the tomato ... I am not a huge fan of baked beans, but I wil eat them now and again. I had only ever had Heinz before, but one evening my dad had brought me a tin of Tesco Value baked beans.
