Well I gave these a go the other week and I have to say that I was not that impressed but they are not so horrendous that you would not ever want to use them in something. I feel if one wants to eat these on their own, like as beans on toast then you are better off going for a slightly higher market brand. The sauce is very watery and that makes ... These Tesco Value Baked beans are ridiculously cheap, even by Tesco Value standards they are cheap. The tin I purchased was something like 14 pence (at time of writing). Which is a silly price for 420g. Now I know what you are thinking, beans often meanz something elsez (if you see what I mean). An usually own brands fall very short of ... Read the complete review

I first started eating Tesco value baked beans when I was a university student. At under 10p a tin they were a great bargain. Tesco Value Baked Beans are easily recognisable by their white packaging with blue stripes and the name of the product printed on the front of the label. The beans themselves are of a good quality, ... Read the complete review

If you look at the price of the 'branded' beans now you would think you are BE-AN had! Bad joke i know. But honestly i have tried most brand of beans, call me a bean connoisseur and this value brand is just as edible. They have the same nutritional value, you are getting the same sized tin..so what is different? Well i would say that the ... Read the complete review

We're on an economy drive round our way at the moment, especially because Christmas is just around the corner. We thought it'd be a good idea to try out a few Tesco Value products and see if there are any worth subsituting our normal brands for while prices on everything are so high. Value baked beans was one of the first things to be ... Read the complete review

I love baked beans, they are so versatile and are a marriage made in heaven when added to a crispy jacket potato and grated cheese. I resent having to pay more than I have to for food and refuse to fork out almost 50p for a can of Heinz or even supermarket own brand beans. I have been eating tesco value beans for some time and have ... Read the complete review

Tesco, famous for selling good quality food, now offers a range of stuff you would not believe, all entitled Value, the list goes from tinned food, through electrical items, and even include Tesco Value Motor Insurance! The list of course includes Baked Beans. The beans are actually Harrico beans, these are used in recipes by good ... Read the complete review

Beans are a thing i never buy top brand in as there are hundreds of different bean companys all selling at different prices and i often tend to just get the one on multi buy offer that week. I have tried the tesco value beans in the past and didnt fully finish the beans i had. They are in no way the a highly rated beans and arnt very ... Read the complete review

With the credit crunch on us and food prices starting to rise even basic store cupboard fillers like baked beans have left some of us, down scaling the brand we normally use. I have used the value range of baked beans for a couple of years now, as the price difference is so much smaller from branded and if you have a family to feed the cost can ... I have brought these beans now for quite a long time. When pennys were low and time were tight, a few years ago now, i remember when these beans cost only 2p a tin. And what a cheek they have to put them up. I think in time they have slowly gone up to 13p. Whilst I would agree value for money is most important it is true when they say ... Since being on maternity pay I have been trying out a few of the Tesco own brand products to try and save a few pennies. I will definetly not be getting any more of their value beans!! We normally buy the mid price beans and I find them nicer than Heinz as Heinz are quite strong tasting with a thick sauce and I like my beans to have a ... Read the complete review

I have used Tesco value baked beans for a very long time ,there is such a big price difference between them and lets say Heinz . Of course the one thing you have to remember is they are cheap so don`t expect them to be as good as a brand name product . The beans come in the usual value style tin and cost 29p for a 420g can, where ... Read the complete review

You get what you pay for, the tin say 420g on it which is enough for 2 or 3 people ifyour sharing. we like them in this house, they can be very watery thou. Due to the whole credit crunch and everything we make do with what we can. I do find them a little hard but they are as nice as other more expensive brands but we make do. Most people think ... These days lots of people are trying to save money. As a family we have decided to try to cut down our massive food bill without giving up good food. We usually shop in Tesco and decided to give their value range a try. We had already tried the Tesco value tomatoes and given them the thumbs up,so when we needed to buy baked beans we decided to ... With the credit crunch hitting most families including ours I decided it was time to make changes to the weekly shopping. My husband loves baked beans and I figured I could save a few pence by going from Tesco baked beans which he managed to become accustomed to (with some gentle persuasion), to tesco value baked beans. In some ways this product needs no introduction. If you've lived in the UK for more than 5 minutes you will know who Tesco are and what baked beans are. But how many of us have always ignored the cheap Tesco value baked beans in favour of Heinz or Branston beans because the packaging of Tesco's value range is so ugly, or because the ... Shopping on a budget is something that im used to doing very well. Tesco value baked beans are cheap and nasty. I find that you can get the odd hard bean in the tin. Although this isn't the norm, I do find that each tin contains a few hard beans. This is really grim and children are put off if they bite into one... what am I saying? I am put off as well! I am a big fan of beans but I generally buy ... Read the complete review

We often buy these as at 20p a tin they're alot cheaper than the well known brands. Every little does indeed help! I'm not a brand snob but I sometimes find some of the own brand items do not compare favourably against the big brand versions. The beans themselves do not vary from better known brands and unlike some cheap brands they ... Read the complete review
