Tesco Value Baked Beans. At only 20p they are cheap and cheerful, or maybe not so cheerful but they're deffinately cheap and great for when you're strapped for cash as so many of us are lately. They're pretty basic, containing just 9 ingredients. With the Haricot Beans being 40% of the contents and the Tomato Purée being a further 14% it makes you ... Read the complete review

While studying for my degree, I found myself in a similar predicament to most other students: I had no money. So, everything became a budget item, including food, supplies, transport, and alcohol. In terms of sustenance for a cheap price, Tesco have a good market advertised. Their blue and white striped range of 'value' products was a life saver ... Read the complete review

I only discovered the pleasure of baked beans in UK, I had never had them the way they are prepared in UK before in my life. Baked beans are normally sweeter than the beans I am used to, which are either the version you find in the Brazilian dish fejoada, a black kind of bean, or the Italian type, called Borlotti, which are amongst the ... I usually buy Tesco's Value range, wherever possible (apart from eggs and meat) as I am trying to save money on grocery bills at the moment, especially since giving up my job to care for our baby, and thus only having one wage coming in. I have found that the Value baked beans taste fine, though they have a little more sauce than some of the ... Read the complete review

Tesco Value Baked Beans. These are the normal baked beans in a tomato sauce so I won't bother explaining what they are as I am sure you are all quite aware. So I am going to jump straight to the point. INGREADIENTS..... Water, haricot beans(40%), tomato purée (14%),sugar, modified maize starch, salt, ... Read the complete review

Well, seeing as there have been several reviews of late on this product and seeing as how I have recently begun trying to shop on a budget, I thought I would buy a tin in place of my usual HEINZ or BRANSTON beans and see for myself how they measured up. If nothing else, at 22p a pop simply writing a review would pay for the error (or not as the ... Read the complete review

I must say, in the last week or so I've been getting the bug for writing, so have thought 'ooo I could review that' on just about everything I eat and use. Whilst making my dinner, of good old beans on toast, I was reminded how much I love 'Value beans' and how great value I think they are. I always make sure that I have a tin of them in my ... Like many people I am trying to find ways to save money at the moment. In our local Tesco they have recently dedicated a whole aisle to Tesco value range. I have never actually bought anything from the Tesco range before but decided to have a closer look at what was on offer. I usually buy either Heinz or Branson's baked beans' depending which is ... Because I have recently changed my routine I am at my daughters on her usual shopping day now so I go to Tesco with her to do a little bit of my own shopping and also to help her out with my very active baby grandaughter. I am more of a Sainsbury's shopper and am very loyal to them but I think Tesco have more special offers and I have been trying ... Read the complete review

My mum buys these when she does the weekly shopping as she says they are good value for money but personaly I cant stand then they are revolting. The sauce in these beans is very watery and a lot lighter in colour than other brands, it tastes weaker and tastes very very sweet, so much so it is actually quite sickly tasting which I realy ... Tesco manage to offer very good prices by offering their own products. In a way they cut the middleman, and this is only good news for the final consumer. I like baked beans, no funny jokes here, please! I normally buy them from Tesco. They only have one size, the 420 gramms tin, which cost 28 pennies. I regret they only ... Read the complete review

Most items in the tesco value range are actually quite good despite being cheaper in pice than leading brands but this was not the case with there beans. I brought a couple of tins of these from tesco obviously and upon opening the can noticed that there is a lot of sauce and it looks very watery. I emptied the tin of baked ... I have to confess to being a bit of a 'brand snob', my husband often berates me, saying that all too often i judge a product by its brand name, or the pretty packaging-a bad (not to mention expensive) trait to have, and one that leads to manufacturers designing expensive colourful packaging and using harmful food dyes to make food look nicer for ... There are few dishes that I believe belong to Great Britain more than Europe, and baked beans are one of these. Tesco sell value banked beans, which are part of their value products. They are sold in a tin of 420 gramms and will set you back 29 pennies for each tin you buy. 1 Pound will buy 3 and you have some spare ... Read the complete review

Beans certainly don't mean Tesco's own! As one reviewer (Ann) has pointed out, the sugar content is very high in Tesco's & Branston's too. My personal preference (and has been ever since I was a child) is Heinz Baked Beans. The taste difference is there for everyone to experience and my children love them too. Heinz have been doing beans ... Read the complete review
