All we're hearing at the moment is 'credit crunch' this and 'credit crunch' that, so a lot of people will find themselves cutting down on most things they buy, or going for a cheaper option. Tesco have a very good range of 'value' products, of which I probably sampled most when I was a student a few years back. One of the products I used to get every now and then was this one: Tesco value baked beans & sausages. Heinz do a rather nice version which is made using better quality sausages, beans and sauce, but for those wanting to eat this cheaper, this isn't a bad option to go for. Aah the summers are here, nice weather, sleep-ins and more often than not in our house no food other than ice creams. This has the overall of effect of reducing man to the basics i.e. toasties and beans on toast, the last of which leads to my review today on Tesco Value Baked Beans and Sausages. Appearance Well first off the tin has a very simple design, which consists of a white paper label and with the name and nutritional values written in dark blue and a red ring around the bottom. I recently purchased these when looking for some bargain lunch items from my local Tesco store. The can is aluminium and has a paper label with the familiar Tesco value logo as well as the heating instruction & nutritional information. There is no ring pull on the can but it's very easy to open with a can opener and this helps to keep the product nice and cheap so I don't mind at all. Once the can is opened I can see beans in tomato sauce with a few mini sausages poking out and it looks quite well proportioned as I throw the contents in to a saucepan and put them on the hob for a few minutes.
