Tesco Value Bran Flakes Description: Manufacturer: Tesco / Type: Breakfast Cereal. I have been trying really hard in the run up to the festive season, and knowing that I would be eating and drinking loads, I have been eating as healthily as possible. We are always being told that breakfast is the most important meal ...  Read the complete review

I love cereal and usually buy the cheap Smartprice version of Bran flakes which I am more than happy with. I had plenty of cereal in the cupboard so this was more of an impulse buy just to see if they were better or worse than the ones I am used to. The box is very off putting and definitely doesn't shout 'class' at all but who cares? ...  Read the complete review

Generally I am not particularly a morning person - waking up and getting dressed is about my limit before eight o'clock. Therefore, I sometimes struggle getting to breakfreak, especially if the cereal I am currently eating isn't exciting or edible. So, when I decided to try a super market own brand of one of my classic, "boring but ...  Read the complete review

Tesco own brand Branflakes to me are as good as the real thing. 750gm packs cost about 78p compared to £2.26 for the same size pack for Kelloggs Initial smell is of bran, initial taste is quite sweet with little after taste but they are very crunchy and quite filling. They are a pleasing colour and texture and delicious with cold milk, ...  Read the complete review

As you may be aware ( that is if you have read any of my other reviews and if not WHY?) my youngest is going away to Uni in two days boo hoo! so like a mad woman I'm making up food boxes left, right and centre. All the family tell me that I'm feeding just one and not the entire Uni, but mums will be mums. So after hubby saw the sixth large box of ...  Read the complete review

I'm really loving these flakes. I am a breakfast person through and through. I wake up early and I celebrate with a lovely breakfast on my own. Therefore, breakfast needs to be a meal I really enjoy. I am also engaged in an ongoing food discussion with my daughter (health, body image, additives, etc) so it was with some interest I ...  Read the complete review

Despite a personal distaste for the practices of some of the major supermarkets, I do always want the "Value" products to do well. Britain doesn't shout about the sometimes vast income inequalities that have been allowed to be forged, and after desolating local high streets with agressive competetive practices it would be welcome to see ...  Read the complete review

There is a constant battle in our house with me and my mother in law on one side, and my husband on the other. He thinks that branded food tastes better, we think that there is no difference. This has led in the past to us buying own brands and refilling the branded box but that's another story! (good money saving hint though for fussy men and ...  Read the complete review

These are my top bargain buy at the moment! Now, for those of you who have never tried bran flakes, they aren't the tastiest of cereals. In fact, when I took these into work to eat I was greeted by looks ranging from curiosity to repulsion! However, I can't eat anything sweet first thing in the morning (yuk) and so bran flakes are ...  Read the complete review
