I have been trying some of the items from the Tesco value range to see if they are any good. A packet of biscuits that I tried the other week was the Tesco Value caramel wafers. The packaging is not very nice looking and it is not eye-catching. The packet is a white wrapper with a blue and red Tesco value design on a white back ground and the Tesco value logo. There is a picture of the chocolate biscuits on the background so I can see what they look like. There are five biscuits in the pack and this is good value because they cost under 40 pence. The biscuits have their own wrapper each so they are good for packed lunches. I would normally ... Read the complete review

I love Tunnocks Caramel Wafers. I could probably eat a whole 8 pack in 1 sitting, so when I saw these ones from Tesco, I thought they were worth a shot. They may be good, and end up saving me money I thought! You get 5 in a pack and they cost a bargain 46p per pack. Compared to the brand named ones, I think this is a good saving. So what are these? This is strips of Wafer with caramel mixed through it and a covering of Milk Chocolate all the way through these. The bars are rectangular and quite slim, and about the lenght of a middle finger. The wafer inside had a little bit crispiness to them, but I thought they tasted a bit stale. The were more ... Read the complete review

Sadly, this is not one of those Tesco Value products that I find a bargain. The range usually has a few good items, and some of them are indeed in their confectionery range. This product, however, really is for the financially desperate, or for those with shot taste buds who want something a bit sweet and only have 50p in their pockets. The packet of 'wafers' is loosely packaged in flimsy plastic film, and this may be one of the reasons that the product is so disappointing. Opening it is easy, and reveals average looking chocolatey wafers. Sadly, this is where 'average' finishes and 'poor' starts, as picking it up and taking a bite immediately leads you to ... Ooh I saw these added in the new products section and just had to! One of my all time favourite cheap value range products from Tesco. Now if you've read any of my other reviews I might come across as a bit of a labels snob and I hold my hands up to this. I am fussy when it comes to food, yes. These caramel wafer bars though are just brilliant. You get 5 bars for 47p ( under a third cheaper than the leading brand ) weighing in at (120g) . calorie wise you are looking at 80 calories per wafer , compared to 120 for the leading brand, so not only saving you money here but saving that lovely figure of yours too! My bug as usual in this is the packaging ... Read the complete review

I love Tunnock's caramel wafers so when I saw this packet at the price of 47p (for 5!) I thought they were well worth a go! I do like chocolate and I was impressed that they only 80 Calories each so not too bad as a treat for my waistline lol! The Packaging.... Large white oblong packet with red, white and blue writing on the top of a photograph of the wafers telling me that they are Tesco 'Value' 5 Caramel Wafers 'Milk Chocolate Coated Wafer Bar', that they have no artificial flavours or colours and there is an at a glance nutritional chart on there. On the back all in blue writing I'm given a list of ingredients, allergy advice is given and I'm ... Read the complete review
