... packaging is very plain and basic. **The Appearance, Taste & Texture** A traditional half moon shaped pasty, made with a flaky pastry. The pasty looks very tempting, with it's golden pastry and the smell is savoury and cheesy. The pasty appeared full and held it's shape well when heated as per the instructions, the cheesy aroma developed as it heated through and I was really looking forward to my supper as I took it out of the oven. As I cut into my lovely, hot pasty, I was amazed to find a sliver of...more

Premium Review A puffed up windbag of a pasty. Tesco Value Cheesy Pasty (592 words)

Review of Tesco Value Cheesy Pasty. In a household with two meat eaters and one vegetarian (me!) it is sometimes difficult to find meals that we can all eat. The meat eaters are happy to have a few vegetarian meals each week but on their meat eating nights, I sometimes feel that I am running a cafe, having to cook separate dishes! I'm not fond of processed foods, but when I saw these Tesco Value Cheesy pasties at only 29p, I couldn't resist trying them, thinking that they would make a quick meal for me when the others eat meat. **The Packaging** The 150g pasty is presented in a clear plastic packet. The Tesco log appears on the ...  Read the complete review

I don't mind the odd Pastry product, but i'm quite partial to the odd Pies and Pasty, so when I saw this one priced at a bargain 29p in Tesco, I thought it was worth a try. I found this at the Chiller cabinet in Tesco next to the Pies and other savoury good. This is part of the Tesco Value range, which is the budget range in Tesco. I've come across some good finds in this range. The packaging isn't that exciting. The Pasty is in a cellophane wrapper which is see through, and the only writing is a brief description, nutritional information and the Tesco Value branding. The only colours are red and white on this. It had a decent enough use by date on it of 4 ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Cheesy Pasty: A cheesy pasty with no oomph! (504 words)

I love foods with pastry on them and quite often indulge myself with them. When I was in my local Tesco store I was looking for a vegetable pasty cos I fancied one and I couldn't find a reasonably priced one I opted for this cheese one instead and I couldn't believe the price of it so I bought myself a couple of them! The Packaging: Clear plastic packet. On the front of it in red and white writing I'm told it is Tesco 'Value' Cheesy Pasty, there is an at a glance nutritional chart to the bottom of it, the best before date is clearly stamped on and there is a bar-code on there. On the back of the packet there are heating instructions (in the oven for ...  Read the complete review
