Tesco Value Chocolate (Tesco Value Chocolate in general)
Name: jacqueline101
Advantages: Tastes good and not a synthetic aftertaste Disadvantages: None Due to having a lot less money coming in and a small child to provide for, I have recently started buying even more Tesco Value products. I bought quite a lot of own brand items when I was working full-time, as I think that a lot of them taste very similar, and I usually cannot tell the difference. I found the Value bars of chocolate a few months ago, when I was looking in the confectionary aisle. They were priced at around 23-25 pence for a 100g bar of either milk or plain chocolate. I bought one of each and was really pleased to find that they tasted very good. Often, cheap chocolate has a fake taste, that seems to be full of chemicals and no real cocoa solids. The Value milk chocolate contains 26% cocoa solids, while the plain chocolate has 47% cocoa solids. This seems quite good for chocolate that is so much cheaper than others in the same group. I think that for the price, this chocolate is very good value. I have eaten it on it's own, and also used it chopped up into chunks and put into banana and chocolate muffins - a recipe that I found in Nigella Lawson's 'Nigella Express', and they were delicious and have been made quite a few times since. I certainly do not think that the chocolate tastes cheap, though it is not the highest quality, but it is far from inferior. Summary: Great value |
