... coffee and dollops of biscuit end up in the bottom of the cup. They crumble but not good like digestive and they just fall apart as I bit into them. They taste dead plain as well and need a bit more sugar I think. The chocolate chips don't taste of proper chocolate and there's nothing nice in the flavour of these cookies at all. They have a dry taste and make me need a drink after I've ate 2 of these and there is also a funny burnt taste about them that isn't very nice. The aftertaste is a bit wheaty and that...more

Premium Review Tesco Value Cookies Chocolate Flavoured Chips: A Lump of Dry Pastry to go with your Tea? (351 words)

I normally get all my groceries from Sainsburys but had some of these Tesco Value Chocolate Chip Cookies today as one of the lads bought a packet into work. I'm not normally one to grumble about a bargain and quite happily took one to go with my tea when offered. I wish I hadn't to be honest though! I've never tasted such a cheap, dry biscuit in my life. The taste is okay I guess, a bit dry and crumbly to be honest though. The chocolate chips add a tiny bit of flavour and moisture to the mix but they don't make up for how awful the actual biscuit is really. Also, I found the chocolate chips were sprinkled on the top mostly so it looks like there are ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review No Comparison to Sainsburys. (413 words)

I recently did a few big shops in Tesco instead of my usual Sainsbury's and have therefore been comparing the regular foods I buy, one with the other. Own label cookies are one of these items and I have found that Tesco cookies are far inferior to Sainsbury's ones. Although you do get a larger packet in Tesco, they are more money, so pound for pound you are getting roughly the same deal. Tesco comes in at 88p for a double pack of roughly 20 cookies or so each side, whereas Sainsbury's are 55p for approximately 15 on each side. However for me the biggest difference is the taste. I found with Tesco cookies they tasted much more buttery than the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Cookies Chocolate Flavoured Chips: Cookies 'r' Us! (164 words)

I love these cookies! The Cookies itself. The cookies are lovely. They're jammed full of chocolate chips. Theres probably about 20 in each cookie. The biscuit itself tastes like traditional biscuits, like they've just been made from eggs, flour, sugar with nothing added. They are nice and crunchy too, not soft! Packaging. Very simple. Plain white packaging with 'Tesco Value Cookies' written on the front with 2 cookies next to it and the nutritional information on the back, Healthy? Unfortunately Tesco haven't provided a GDA breakdown thing on this package. Which is disappointing because it helps with items like this. It's ...  Read the complete review

My great grandma in law has gone slightly senile in her old age, she has a habit now of buying things just for the sake of buying them and then palming them off on anyone who will have them, well this is how i have come to have 20 packets of these sitting in my cupboard. I would never have brought these for myself as the packaging is so bland and plain i would have expected the food inside to be the same but once again i was wrong and nanna was right. These cookies are very nice, they dont taste too sweet so are not sickly and have loads and i mean loads of chocolate chips in them which compensates for the buiscuit not being sweet to give a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Cookies Chocolate Flavoured Chips: CHEAP CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES (394 words)

Well I used to buy these, dead cheap, you get loads of cookies, (over 50, there are 2 packs of 300g inside the bag) The first times i bought the cookies they were fine, they weren't exceptional, but they were biscuits and tasted like plain ordinary cookies. If you want the best cookies i recommend Maryland Cookies (red pack) you get only like 12/15 in there but they're always great. I always eat my cookies with a dip of either tea or milk. Makes it much more worth-while. One day when i bought another pack of Tesco cookies (because i was gobbling these quick time) (like a year ago) all the cookies tasted very different, the taste i can only ...  Read the complete review
