I recently discovered Tesco sold my favourite biscuits for only 9p, I bought a packet of 10 Tesco Value Shortbread Biscuits and thought they were fantastic. However I should have known they would be nice because I have been buying Tesco Value Digestives and Tesco Value Custard Creams for a few years now. I think Value products can either be great or as cheap tasting as they cost. When it comes to biscuits so far I have found that they are really good. It is mainly my children who eats biscuits in our house and to be honest I don't think they'll be complaining that the biscuits aren't McVities. Tesco Value Custard Creams come in a 400g packet and ... Read the complete review

Custard Cream biscuits are one of those products that hasn't really got a brand known for making them, I'm aware that Hills make a version but other than that it's simply a case of picking up whatever packet of Custard Creams I happen to see on the odd occasion that I fancy one of these biscuits. At 30p for a 400g packet of the biscuits these Tesco Value ones are certainly the cheapest I've seen, although how will they compare taste wise to other brands? I've now eaten a few from this packet and must say I'm rather impressed that they taste just like any other Custard Cream available. The biscuits that make up the 'cream sandwich' have a nice ... Tesco Custard Creams is a very cheap alternative to the well known and popular biscuit brand - Custard Creams. At around 30p for a double pack of these biscuits, you feel at the moment of purchase that you can't really go wrong. And upon first taste - they don't disappoint. Normally I try and steer well clear of "value" or "smart price" brands but having tasted value biscuits at a friends gathering I thought I'd give these a whirl. Opening the biscuit pack wasn't as easy as eating the biscuits. This is because (probably due to price), the pack doesn't have an easy tear tab on, making it easier to open the pack which at first I wasn't too ... Read the complete review

Value brands - sometimes they are great, and you can't believe that you would ever pay more for a "named" brand again, and some are as cheap in quality as they are in price, to be relegated back to the "only if I am desperate" category. I always like to try the value version before coming to a conclusion, as I have been pleasantly surprised more often than I have been disappointed. Today was the turn of the Tesco Value Custard Creams......and as you will have seen from the number of stars given, it comes into the category of "blimey, these aren't bad actually". For 30p, yes, just 30p, I was able to buy a ... Read the complete review

Custard creams have long been my Achilles heel. Even though I am now an adult, and so should have developed self control, I am utterly unable to just eat one. I therefore figured that at least if I swapped to value I'd be limiting the financial damage done by my lack of restraint. Value custard creams come in the traditional blue and white stripey wrapping, with a coloured photo of the biscuits on it as an added bit of class/enticement to buy. The wrapper wasn't particularly easy to open, but then I do in general struggle with biscuit packet wrappings. The biscuits inside look exactly as custard creams should: two biscuits sandwiching a pale ... Read the complete review
