Advantages: Quantity and Quality

Disadvantages: Nasty after-taste, might be just me though

Tesco Custard Creams is a very cheap alternative to the well known and popular biscuit brand - Custard Creams. At around 30p for a double pack of these biscuits, you feel at the moment of purchase that you can't really go wrong. And upon first taste - they don't disappoint.

Normally I try and steer well clear of "value" or "smart price" brands but having tasted value biscuits at a friends gathering I thought I'd give these a whirl. Opening the biscuit pack wasn't as easy as eating the biscuits. This is because (probably due to price), the pack doesn't have an easy tear tab on, making it easier to open the pack which at first I wasn't too pleased with, but once again, looking back on the price of the 400g pack, I could hardly complain.

The biscuit itself appears to me as being slightly larger than normal custard creams but I am not at all complaining. A custard cream for those of you who don't know is two pieces of vanilla biscuit filled with some vanilla icing in the middle.

My only complaint about the biscuit is that after 10 minutes of consuming a biscuit from this pack, I get left with a really nasty after-taste in my mouth and it gives me bad breath. Maybe it's just me - I dunno.

The biscuits are absolutely suitable for vegetarians but for people who have nut allergies - beware because they can't guarantee the biscuits - nut free. At 60 calories a biscuit I recommend that you just have one or two daily.

On the whole, one of the greater Tesco Value products by any stretch of the imagination and for once you get quality and quantity in the same white wrapper

Summary: At around 30p per pack you can't go wrong
