Advantages: Taste ok and only cost 31p

Disadvantages: Not as good as McVities

When it comes to digestive biscuits I think McVities are by far the best you can buy, whether they are plain or covered in chocolate I love McVities Digestives. However as with everything I buy I try to save money and in the quest I have started buying Tesco Value Digestive Biscuits. So far all of the biscuits I have bought from the Tesco Value Range has been surprisingley nice and I find these biscuits to be ok but not as nice as some of the other varieties.

Tesco Value Digestive Biscuits are easily recognisable as all of the other products from the Value range. Simple blue, white and red packaging with a picture of whats inside. They cost 31p for a 400g packet and you get about 25 biscuits.

Like most packets of biscuits they are quite hard to get into. There is a 'tear here' thing to pull but this is about six biscuits down and it is so annoying when you try and open it here and all the biscuits fall everywhere. Therefore I always struggle with opening at the top of the packet.

When it comes to taste the biscuits are ok. They are nice and crunchy as you would expect a digestive to be but they are a little plain tasting. I don't think they are sweet enough and they can be quite dry as well. They are nice enough to eat just not as nice as McVities. I do buy them though but it is mainly the kids that eat them, they're not that fussy.

The biscuits are quite big, as all digestives are, so it is not surprising that just 1 biscuit contains:

80 calories
2.3g sugar
3.5g fat
1.6g saturates
0.2g salt

After trying quite a few different types of Tesco Value biscuits these are not the best available. A little dry and not quite sweet enough but at just 31p for a 400g packet then they are certainly good value for money.

Summary: ok
